This post is shockingly NOT all about ponies! But let us start with a pony picture anyway.

I would wear a pony shirt if it had Tux!Pinkie on it. FOR SERIOUS.

So I'll start off with a strange pattern I noticed in season two! The last five or so episodes pretty much had one of the characters acting like a jackass and then learning a moral at the end, therefore developing their character and thus lessening their jackassery. (Supposedly, it is only in future episodes will we know if their moral isn't forgotten, but considering how not-chronological the order of these episodes apparently are...it certainly complicates things)

Which is odd because MOST episodes aren't like this. They either tend to be collective episodes where a group tries to solve a problem, or some outside character is the jackass instead, and they learn a lesson off this jackass. Otherwise some misunderstanding causes the episode's plot. Only in Sonic Rainboom did a mane cast-member act like a jackass to further the plot in the first season (Rarity). You could argue Rainbow and Applejack were like this in Fall Weather Friends, or Applejack and Rarity in Look Before you Sleep, but that's more so bickering between two characters over one clearly being an insensitive prick over the other.

I suppose due to the last four out of five episodes BEING Rainbow Dash and Rarity episodes, characters who tend not to be the nicest ponies as opposed to the other four, that such a plot device would be more common...but for EVERY EPISODE in the last month or so? That's a bit too much in my opinion. I suppose Sisterhooves Social wasn't necessarily so bad on Rarity, since Sweetie Belle was messing everything up, but then her method of making up with her sister seemed a bit selfish as well, so... Yet Applebloom gets an episode where she steals a potion from somepony else's house, takes it, and lies to everyone else about her Cutie Mark, so. This is odd because previously Applebloom seemed to be a pretty decent filly, if anything this would've been a more fitting episode for Scootaloo or something, but Applebloom was the one associated with Zecora first, so.

And guess what? The NEXT episode is about Spike being a jackass. WHEN WILL THIS END? The Christmas episode are the collective races learning to stop being intolerant racist bigots towards each other to achieve some sort of goal. I'm sure hoping for some more variety in the plot for episodes to come, especially for other characters.

Pretty much the last five or so episodes.

I'm going to do an official count of how many episodes each mane six had, and which they had major roles in as important side characters. Then we can collectively say who badly needs an episode next. (Mostly my gathering of evidence to justify the need of AJ/Pinkie/Fluttershy stuff. RAH.) Bold is main character. Italics is important side character.

1/2. Mare in the Moon and Elements of Harmony are a two-parter dealing with everyone. Logic says Twilight should be the main character chosen, but I will not count it.

3. Ticket Master. Twilight. The rest of the mane six had equal roles so no important side character here.
4. Applebuck Season. Applejack seems pretty obvious. Twilight. (the rest of them are necessary but not quite as important as her)
5. Griffon the Brush-Off. Pinkie Pie. Rainbow Dash.
6. Boast Busters. Twilight.
7. Dragonshy. Fluttershy.
8. Look Before You Sleep. Applejack. Rarity. Twilight. (Quite easy since only three characters showed up! P:)
9. Bridle Gossip. This is akin to the first two episodes, equal for everyone really. Maaaaybe Applebloom? Am I even counting the CMC?
10. Swarm of the Century. Most people would say Pinkie Pie but she wasn't really the focus of the episode, rather the pony everyone reacted to, seeing as we didn't see the episode in her POV, so she fits like a side to everyone's main...but I won't count everyone else as main because main usually is restricted to one ore two, so...Pinkie Pie.
11. Winter Wrap Up. Twilight.
12. Call of the Cutie. CMC!
13. Fall Weather Friends. Applejack. Rainbow Dash. (arguable if Twilight is side, eh)
14. Suited for Success. Rarity.
15. Feeling Pinkie Keen. Twilight. Pinkie Pie. (This feels like another Swarm of the Century, except with less characters so the role is more obvious)
16. Sonic Rainboom. Rainbow Dash. Rarity.
17. Stare Master. Fluttershy. (Again, Twilight arguable as side, but the CMC fit much better)
18. The Show Stoppers. Another CMC.
19. A Dog and Pony Show. Rarity. Spike. (Look, Spike! :X)
20. Green isn't Your Colour. Fluttershy. Rarity. Twilight. Pinkie Pie. (All four characters had a great amount of impact to this episode, but the main ones are obvious)
21. Over a Barrel. Another collective one!
22. A Bird in the Hoof. Fluttershy. Twilight.
23. The Cutie-Mark Chronicles. Yet another collective episode. I like collective ones a lot actually, hope to see some in season two.
24. Owls-Well that Ends Well. Spike. Twilight.
25. Party of One. Pinkie Pie
26. The Best Night Ever. Collective.

Season Two! Once again 1/2 are collective adventure battle things.
3. Lesson Zero. Twilight.
4. Luna Eclipsed. Luna. Twilight. (Oh hey an episode actually not about the mane six, CMC, or Spike! O: ...and one of my favourites)
5. Sisterhooves Social. Rarity. Sweetie Belle. Applejack. Applebloom.
6. Cutie Pox. Applebloom. Does Applejack or Twilight count as sides? I suppose. (I could add Zecora too but we're getting off-topic here from the Mane Six. P: )

Twilight is pretty much side for most episodes in season one due to the letter to Celestia thing, since she no longer has to do that constantly her status as side isn't as needed in season two. Anyway, GRAND TOTAL...

Twilight: 5 main, 5 side.
Applejack: 3 main. 2 side.
Pinkie Pie: 2 main. 3 side.
Fluttershy: 4 main. 1 side.
Rarity: 7 main. 0 side.
Rainbow Dash: 4 main. 1 side.

Well you're probably wondering how I determined when a character is a main character or a side character, and yes it is a bit biased. Basically, you are the main character of the episode if it is YOUR point of view. Case in point, Feeling Pinkie Keen may be a Pinkie episode for a lot of people, but for me it was Twilight's reaction to a lazy plot device the writers threw in that never showed up again until it was convenient in Mare-Do- Well. We didn't really learn much of Pinkie's character in that episode, and it wasn't from her point-of-view anyway. If the episode has more than one point-of-view and it's not an episode about everypony, it tends to be about two ponies quarreling in some way, be it an actual conflict or a misunderstanding like Green Isn't Your Colour between Rarity and Fluttershy. I could also count which ponies were absent in which episodes, which would be redundant. Let's just say Applejack shows up in A LOT of episodes and Fluttershy tends not to. So AJ appears to always be used as some sort of character important enough to actually have screentime, but not enough to focus on her.

As for my comments? Jesus Christ Rarity.

Well, Rarity episodes tend to be good, so that is a plus, but I do feel a pony especially one like Applejack requires more episodes. Before the second season aired it was Rainbow Dash with a crippling low amount of screentime, but that has been changed. (And your mileage may vary if those episodes were good, I certainly liked them) I actually find Rarity's amount of attention kind of fitting for her personality, seeing as she is so flashy in comparison to plain Applejack who doesn't mind being in the background anyway. I'm not complaining about Twilight since she is meant to be the main main character anyway, so. The rest of them are fairly balanced now in terms of episodes, it is only Rarity who seems to have an unusual amount of spotlight.

Knowing next episode is Spike and the one after is some collective one, I predict either a Pinkie Pie, Applejack or Fluttershy episode. I'm going to go with Fluttershy first though, she tends to have easier to write for episodes than either earth pony. (there COULD be another RD one too, but she's just had two so it might be a bit too soon) Those poor earth ponies. EARTH PONY REPRESENT!

Well okay, both shots are from different episodes so you know, she probably got the fish from some marketplace rather than using her abilities to lure fish to their death, but it'd be kind of funny if she didn't give a damn about fish. I certainly don't... (but their abundance is necessary for the ecosystem! I know that!) The fish in both shots are even the same colour! That smiling fish in the first shot is dead, I tells you!

Speaking of horrible...

A decent fan-cover of "A Brand New Day" from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (Awesome movie! I highly recommend watching!) with a voice well, listen. P: And...this fits with this very awesome ask blog I mentioned before but forgot to link, so click on picture to check it out! :D And yes I realize there is a bit of shipping due to the movie itself and which character Rainbow Dash ends up as, but I don't really care. Gilda as CAPTAIN CLAMOR is amazing.

In NON-pony news, I caught up with Negima. LET ME SUMMARIZE EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN AS SHORT A PARAGRAPH AS POSSIBLE.

Negi vs. Fate. SUDDENLY ALL THE BAD GUYS. Then they BLEW HOLES IN THEIR STOMACHS. All is doomed! Oh noes! BIG DAMN HEROES MOMENT! All the allies Negi ever have show up! Evangeline freezes the BAD GUYS FOREVER! Negi makes up with Fate. DEFEAT MEANS FRIENDSHI--wait, there's still the big bad! SUDDENLY ALL ASUNA'S FRIENDS APPEAR, even the ones back in Japan! They hold hands, and reach out to ASUNA! Asuna wakes up, and saves Negi from big bad! BIG BAD ACTUALLY POSSESSED NAGI! Nagi tells his son "Come kill me" as he escapes! Asuna RESETS everything! THE MAGIC WORLD IS SAVED! Everyone goes home. School and harem shenanigans continue like usua--WHAT'S THIS, Fate is substitute teacher as Negi barely shows up!? NOR DOES A FEW OTHER PEOPLE TOO? Random pactios. Then Setsuna finds out Asuna must sleep for 100 years after graduation, and Negi is immortal, having become what EVANGELINE is!? THEN: Sports Festival. All girls realize Negi is lousy man, CLIFFHANGER. Dun dun dunnn!!

As for my opinion?

Well first, due to my Touhou fandom I just kept seeing the characters as expies or clones of Touhou characters. I'm not entirely sure why but I just kept doing that. @_@. Otherwise I learned from catching up that I still hate harems, especially since like 3/4ths of the class is now infatuated with the bloody ten (or twelve now) year old boy. :| The cheerleaders are still as shallow and stupid as ever. Too many deus ex machinas too, just wasn't fitting. I suppose I do like how Fate is acting as a good guy now, but I bet he'll be worfed to death like Kotaro in the future anyway.

There's also a trailer for the next MANZAI featuring the winners of the last five manzais, meaning this is like the championship manzai for champions! The one thing I am annoyed about is that the fifth manzai HAS YET TO BE COMPLETELY TRANSLATED, which really, really cheeses me off. I can understand people not having time but they had a whole year for like an hour of footage. A YEAR. Argh. (It hasn't been updated since April. >_>) The demo is here btw. I am very much expecting this sixth manzai to already be translated before the fifth is even finished. >: Of this demo itself, I am actually quite disappointed with some of the voices. The voice of Remilia from the fourth manzai was not retained, and Ran's voice sounds different too, especially since I LOVED her voice as a host in the fifth one.

Ah well, as for good parts....the judges look HILARIOUS. And yay, Yukari is back! Not to mention this one will be of awesome quality due to all the winners of before. I wonder what extravagant prize they're trying to win.

AND REHEARSAL BETTER GET RELEASED THIS COMIKET. I WILL PLAY THE FUCK OUT OF THAT GAME.

So I had this dream, where there was this ship...probably because I watched Indiana Jones a few days back and there were boats there. Anyway, it had Rainbow Dash in it, apparently her and some other people (I do not recall who they were) were caught and they were about to throw Rainbow Dash into a pit of death, but then everyone broke out of their holding places and SAVED Rainbow Dash! It was played like a comedy or rather light-heartedly in my dream. Rainbow Dash was being swung back and forth about to be thrown and she was like "Guys!? GUUUYS!? Can you hurry up and save me please? GUUUYYYS!?"

Yes it was very strange. I had another one where Scootaloo died, but that's okay because it was an episode of DRAGONBALL GT so the dragonballs would bring her back anyw---WHY THE FUCK DID I DREAM OF DBGT ARGHRHGHRhghfbdfjgdghkfj kg.

As for any fanfic recommendations? Well, in response to the LACK OF APPLEJACK and LACK of FLUTTERSHY, I saw this recently posted. Read it, and thought it was quite good, could work as an actual episode of the show so yeah. Click here for a read.
