Doth Returnth of Spot
Although I doubt anybody noticed.
So anyway, I'm not in the mood to explain in frilly little details about my 2nd ever life-time trip onto an island!!! Omg!
But, I'm here to whine, so don't whine because I'm whining, this is my journal and I can whine all I want...=D
DAMNIT DAVE NONIS, TRADE AWAY AULD DO YOU?
The goalie that inspired me, and sure, he's not the best goalie around, in fact, Auld's not a great goalie at all, but he's solid enough to win games, isn't that what you want from a goalie? Some goalies do even more, they stand on their heads and take the whole game themselves! But hockey is a team game, and our problem was our defense, you don't go messing around with our goaltending situation when we shipped in a billion goalies last season!!! Last seasonwe had two fine goalies, Cloutier and his backup, Auld, but then ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE.
Of some unknown reason Cloutier got injured, and he was being a fine goalie, oh sure, you can make him a scapegoat and say he should've done more, but what do you expect from a goalie? The goaltender's job is to make sure the opposition doesn't score more than his own team scores, and if the team CAN'T SCORE then there is a problem. Yes, so you won the game 8-7, and that's a heck of a lot of goals, but the goalie did do his job enough to win. You don't get points based on how many goals, if that was the case than Calgary would be the crappiest team out there.
But, goalies can have bad days and good days, the players, though, there's 20 of them. Basically twice as much as the amount of goalies, if a goalie has a bad day it's crucial, but if a player does, no worries, he can hide behind 19 other player's shadows, but a goalie cannot. Thus our goaltenders are constantly scapegoats of people's negative comments in losses and such, there is always other people who don't live up to their potential.
Secondly, you move Noronen here have bringing Quellet, then dumping the poor French dude into the minor leagues when you have goalies such as Dustin Slade, and now you have this guy. Then, Nonis has the NERVE to listen to the moronic fans going, "GET LUONGO!!!!!" And Auld did perfectly fine this year, heck, he was our MVP, that's like trading away Steve Nash from the Suns to some crappier team...WHY?!
Our goaltending was never the problem. Our teamwork, effort, leadership perhaps. Maybe the Bertuzzi move was ok, but I still don't accept that stupid Auld trade, he's a great guy and I actually idolized him. If you needed someone to move, move Cloutier, and if Florida doesn't want our original starter just because he hasn't played in a while, means nothing. I don't believe in moving young guys that have a lot of potential, I mean someone who sees great potential in a little guy who suddenly becomes a star named Wayne Gretzky is incredible stupidity.
Oh, and by the way you right-wing Canuck fans, AGE DOES NOT MATTER, just because Luongo got some impressive stats at the age of Auld, and is only two years older than him doesn't mean a thing to me. What we care about is the present and the future, not the frikkin' past, that's behind us, and the same reason for any bastard who still hasn't realized Bert's mistake yet, should stop living in that season and come back. Hey, we're in the NEW NHL DUMBASS.
I have no grudge with Luongo, but Luongo liked Florida, and I'm sure Auld was comfy here, and Bertuzzi would probably get traded but he loves this place too. Even Bryan Allen didn't even EXPECT to move. GM's, coaches, and the fans think these players are little robots that don't have lives with their family. Every city just has to "WIN WIN WIN!!!" There are those teams with loyal fans that don't win a lot, what to do with them? They may try to rebuild, sure, but they're the better fans because they care not for winning since they don't win much. IT'S LIKE A PLAGUE. Winning is corrupting the fans to move all the players, give them jetlag, screw over their lives for the better of their own selfish little needs.
But whatever, I'm just being whiny as usual. I hope Auld, Allen, and Bertuzzi have fun in Florida, and don't get caught in any hurricane weather. No pun intended, Carolina.
As for Luongo, it takes underdogs to impress me, and Noronen scares me. So...goaltending is not my favourite any more at least on this team. I'll go get Slade's autograph then.
