Chuugoku aru yo~
Both fandom and real life.
And then I realized about school, coming in about...oh I don't know, a WEEK?
Fuck.
Oh well, I doubt I'll hate it as much this year, or maybe not even! *shock*
Anywho, I'll start with real life! I'm actually not sure if I should even post this here, since well, people can see it, but whatever. So, Akira came over.
As in, to my house, as in to Vancouver, you know, that kind of thing? Now I only met one other person on the internet before (who was a male, at that!) and that was for a DAY. This was five days, but four technically since the fifth was all about going home and stuff. Well, I was quite excited for it. Honestly it took me quite a lot of convincing to get them to be allowed in my house in the first place (and that was just Akira! Her friend was actually much easier because I just mumbled to them and they were like what? okay whatever) Sometimes the things that seem the hardest turn into the easiest things. o_o
First, is it me or are all these friends I meet/friends I know into well...dark stuff? I'm not sure why, but like, the guy I met, Raven, he had black long hair and skinny jeans, wearing chains and stuff. Basically looked kind of punk-ish or goth-ish to me. Akira has blue hair and likes hmm, I don't know how to word it. Dark Arts? Or does that sound too Harry Potter-ish? Basically fortune telling and cannibalism.
I dunno, you explain it. >_>
And my best friend who I haven't seen in a few months and thus shouldn't be called a best friend is into dragons and magic and stuff. I dunno, just an interesting pattern I saw. Akira however isn't a geek, unless you count Yaoi because Raven was into Maple Story and my best friend into D&D, haha. XP
Anyway the biggest thing I regret about this whole thing is money. I have no money for I have no job yet. (Spotto is an unemployed slob for now!) Thus Akira ended up paying a little too much for me. That I was hoping to avoid, but I did not expect her to pay for an entire day's PNE pass including the rides for all three of us. I only wanted to show her the fair, and maybe get tickets for rides we were interested in, but at that time she said "I don't care".
Well, at the end of it all she was all sad because she used up all her money too fast, and started to care when nothing was left in the bank. Great time to care, really. :P
Another thing I regret is not knowing more places to go to. I think sitting in a hotel waiting for three hours for someone getting an autograph in a Supernatural convention is stretching it. We should've been DOING something then, not sitting there listening to each other's music! Well, Spotto is not an outside person, just so you know. Whistler would have been an epic trip, but money. :C
Oh, and another thing is the fish Akira caught died two days after. R.I.P. Plaidemir. I thought my dad would have the sense to feed them, should've done it myself. Yet another regret.
BUT NO MORE REGRETS! Let us get to the good stuff and some rants perhaps.
The first day was actually one of the most enjoyable days even if it did include a lot of walking and bussing. You see I told her to meet one place but she decided to go to another place, and thus I had to track back to find her. Well, it wasn't that much of an annoyance, more of a bump in our road. I unfortunately spent far too much bus money that day though, before I managed to get a card. Ah well.
First I showed her our gigantic library that looks like a Roman Colosseum and she loved it a lot. It was also the first time I ran up escalators that went down, even if I was already near the top, but I almost slipped so whatever. :P
We went to Lynn Canyon. I still want to go to the Capilano one, someday maybe. There were a bunch of guys who liked to jump on the suspension bridge and make it shake a lot. It was slightly scary, but there will always be guys like that. I actually liked the many stairs. It was like a challenge for us, and the epic music Akira provided helped quite a bit. When we got to a lake/waterfall/rapids/whatever it was we saw some people jumping into the water.
Truthfully, I wanted to get myself wet too. I like submerging myself in water even if I'm still fully clothed. It just feels exciting (before you come out feeling extremely cold) but I figured I shouldn't do it since it'd be a bit of a nuisance. I ended up getting my wish at a sprinkler near the bus stop though. Some retards (YES, THEY WERE RETARDS) who were white laughed at me, thinking I did it by accident.
I think they're retards.
Speaking of which, that day had a lot of lying people. I remember the two asians pointing us <<< to the waterfall, when in fact >>> was the waterfall! And then a middle-aged couple we asked for change for the bus said a five-dollar bill will be accepted by the bus.
Lo' and behold that was untrue. We had to walk 20 minutes to civilization. But now that I think about it, it wasn't that bad. I have to say those walks were some of the most enjoyable times of this whole thing. Maybe it was the epic music or the nature, who knows? The man in the gas station seemed nice too.
The next day we picked up Akira's friend, who was actually pretty cool. We went to the aquarium and the PNE/Playland this day. I swear it was the most expensive day, but also rather enjoyable. Somehow I didn't pay for anything except for food. The aquarium was quite fun, but I couldn't take in the entire experience due to Akira's fear of bugs. Seriously, all I saw were butterflies and cockroaches, and those aren't so exciting because we all know what butterflies and cockroaches look like!
I wanted to see the snakes and leafbugs and other exotic creatures! But nooo. Oh well. We didn't get to see the frogs either, which also made me sad, and barely saw any dolphins. We had a schedule but I always wished we went out earlier on each day, to take in more fun. Unfortunately we started doing that on the weekend when we were running out of things to do, NOT on the days when we had TOO many things to do.
I suppose it'd be better to be more organized, hm? We saw this 4D movie. I liked everything about it except the part where they poke your back. Don't fucking poke me, okay? I hate being poked. I think my neck is still red from when Akira jabbed me. :X My best friend also likes poking me. It's like pinching someone.
Afterwards, we headed to Playland/PNE. The logride was the most enjoyable ride, why? Because like I said before I love getting wet. Not Akira's friend so much, who unfortunately sat on the log at the section where the you get wet the most. The Pirate Ride wasn't as bad as previous times on it, as I didn't get dizzy, maybe because I sat in the middle.
The music ride is amazing. Everyone must ride that. Akira likes dizzy rides while I like roller coasters, so I ended up not going on a roller coaster and standing there watching Akira ride dizzy rides. :C Oh well, it's okay. The hanggliding ride actually made me somewhat dizzy. I get dizzy WAY too easily damnit.
The bumper cars LOOKED boring, but was actually quite fun. Akira's friend missed out on some fun there. I missed fireworks and the maze too, but whatever. We went home quite late that day, somewhat cold. And I regret to say that the days did not get better after this, but I think Thursday and Friday are quite tough to beat.
Friday was the lazy day, we were quite tired by then. At first I had planned White Rock, but I decided that we'd get there too late and be too tired to do anything. We had Akira's famous ham and cheese sandwiches to save money. Instead we went to the beach at Stanley Park, much closer to the convention her friend was going to.
I expected sandcastles and running around in the water in our bare feet, finding baby crab. But that did not happen. It was a mostly silent day since Akira listned to music mostly, and danced the Hare Hare Yukai, at least that's what I thought she was dancing. Then we picked up the friend and went home for the day.
Saturday was better! Science World and the Nightmarket. I was again expecting more but my expectations are always too high. Due to the listening of music we ended up spending most of the day separate, and I went to the animal section myself because she hates animals. I do however fit in a box though, that I did learn.
The nightmarket however was the key part of this day, even if it was mostly Akira chatting with the asian males selling the stuff (which I think are all bootlegs anyway, but that's to be expected in an asian setting). I mean the fish died in two days! WE WANT A REFUND! The sword or dagger or whatever I got seems a little cheap, but for $40 bucks I should be expecting this quality. Also, she took the angry Squall while the free one seems like a bootleg. Nonetheless, I still thought this was the best part of this day.
Then we went and got her friend and home it was again.
Sunday was fairly uneventful. I did take her around the asian areas (and discovered a Japanese bookstore, ZOMFG HETALIA MANGA! I FOUND THE NEGIMA LIMITED EDITION DVDs TOO! NO NEED FOR EBAY...unless I want figures.) We went for sushi even though she doesn't like sushi. (I learned I should never take her words seriously and that she does things for no reason even if they make no sense) Got stuffed, decided not to go to a movie because Spotto is poor, and she went and bought stuff for herself. Lots of shopping and reading in chapters. (Those "For Dummies" books are quite amusing.)
Then waited for three hours in a hotel lobby for her friend to get an autograph from a Supernatural actor, who I assume plays the Dean character. He seems the most popular. We got home at 1:45am.
Today they went home. While the days did seem enjoyable, I think all my expectations didn't happen, which actually makes me somewhat disappointed.
For example, on day one we didn't go to Capilano Bridge, but I didn't mind that as much actually. Lynn Canyon is beautiful itself. I think the first day was good actually.
On day two, Akira doesn't like bugs. So I never saw the exotic bugs and snakes. Akira also doesn't like rollercoasters, so I never went on a rollercoaster. We were in too much of a rush too.
On day three, Akira doesn't like sand on the beach, even though she knew we were going to the beach and only went there to stare at water. So I decided not to build a sandcastle as doing that by oneself sucks, and not to run around in the water (but mostly because it was getting dark and cold). We also only went to the small beach, found little rocks, thus no baby crabs.
I definitely expected walking the seawall on one of these days. It didn't happen. This might have been the biggest disappointment.
On day four, Science World kind of disappointed me really. For its price it should have had something more awesome. It felt more like an elaborate playground for kids. The fact that we spent so much time by ourselves was disappointing in itself too. Maybe I should have been more demanding.
I also expected us to eat much more asian food at the nightmarket, since most of the time I go there is FOR the food...but Akira doesn't like asian food, apparently.
Day five, shopping. I don't like shopping. Movie didn't happen because I had no money. I found this day to be the least enjoyable for some reason. The waiting too, but I don't really mind the waiting. Hell, it would have been fine if the actual day wasn't spent reading by ourselves and listening to music.
You know the reason I was excited for this trip was for Akira. The stuff was fun. I didn't have much money, but an even bigger disappointment than not going to the seawall was basically not talking to Akira as much as I wanted to. She was always listening to music. I had to speak up louder so they would hear me, and that just irked me to no end. I decided in the end to just listen to music myself if I couldn't speak.
The whole point of going to the seawall IS the walk. I could talk to her. There were totem poles for more potential pictures. Its peacefulness and pretty surroundings would allow us to talk to one another more often, which is why I found day one and somewhat day two the most enjoyable. But damnit, I hate music now. I know I'm listening to it right now but the WHOLE POINT OF THIS TRIP, TO ME was to TALK to her, in real life, to socialize, which we DID do on the first two days but I found it to die after that.
Sorry Akira. :\
It WAS fun though, no doubt about that. I just expected a lot more, but hell, I have high expectations. Instead of sandcastles we stare at water, instead of rollercoasters I stare at spinny rides, instead of talking we listen to music. Maybe if we were more organized, maybe it would have been better.
I am not saying the thing sucked though. I was rather sad when Akira left, you know that feeling in your tummy? I mean I got a little annoyed at some points, but in the end it felt kind of sad to not be going out five days in a row with people. I'm an inside person, so that feeling of being out with friends lots and suddenly it being gone made me a little sad. I wish there were more time, more time to socialize more with Alice, not Akira, but in the end I felt I liked Akira more than the Alice because everything I've done with Akira is talk. That's all you can do on the computer, and hell you can listen to music at the same time.
You can't do that with speaking. But overall it was an enjoyable five days. The first two moreso than the last three, but still. Perhaps someday that can happen again...

Fandom! HONG KONG HAS A SEIYUU!
Also, about the "potential" seiyuu for Korea, that was all lies. It was simply a rumour, and anyway Misao's voice for Korea maaaaay have been too girly and high for me. Korea, like Kirami has said, seems to fit more of a boy-ish voice.
BUT ONTO HONG KONG. Apparently his seiyuu is known as an "uke-ish" seiyuu, which I assume means he voices a lot of less manly males and little boys, which is very amusing and not what I imagined of Hong Kong's voice. I listened to a sample of the seiyuu playing a Claymore character and really not what I imagined either.
Listen to a cantonese song sung by a male. THAT is the voice I imagined Hong Kong with. Not something unique really, like Kazumi, but something manly and well...chinese-ish. I imagined HK with a rather deep voice. He would have the deepest voice of the Asians if Japan didn't somehow get a deep voice. (It STILL doesn't fit, but I do like that seiyuu's voice) But instead I am imagining a higher-ukey voice, which doesn't fit my headcanon.
You see, I think of Hong Kong as the MANLIEST uke possible. He has kickass kung-fu. His face muscles rarely get any exercise, and he is basically...manly! As manly as an asian can be, so not to the point of facial or body hair like France or Cuba or Turkey or something. He would be muscular, but not that muscular, as muscular as an asian would look. (Which isn't that muscular) And the thick brows.
I don't see UK as a manly person at all, even with thick brows, but it's because his brows are like, five thick lines rather than looking like an actual realistic brow. HK's looks like Bruce Lee's brows. And we all know how manly Bruce Lee is. So I see HK as MANLIER than UK.
Anywho, ONLY seme people to HK can be manlier than him, which applies to Korea. Yes, Korea is manlier. He is manlier BECAUSE he shows emotions. His tears, they are MANLY tears. His ahoge has personality, making it manlier than all other ahoges, even Nantucket! The fact that Korea is not afraid to show his love for anything and anybody, and the fact that he keeps no secrets, even inapproriate ones inside make him even manlier!
He is also canonly manly due to his apparently muscular nature. Anybody who can seem so cheerful after such hard times MUST be manly. He is not only physically manly, but EMOTIONALLY manly, and that is the manliest thing you can ever be. It may be manly to wear pink, but it's manlier to BE pink. I'm not sure why Koreans were complaining about him because he is pretty awesome due to his manly nature. Therefore, Korea/HK is a pretty manly pairing.
I am never a fan of a pairing where the uke is excessively girly or in terms of Yuri/shoujo the dominant or "cooler" partner excessively masculine. Not that these pairings do not exist in real life, but it feels like het that way, like one is a girl and one is a boy and the only difference between it and het is that they both have the same organs...
But back to my point, HK's seiyuu does not voice manly characters, so my headcanon is out of whack. I certainly hope when I hear him he'll sound pretty good nonetheless.
ALSO, CHINA'S MARU KAITE CHIYKUU IS AWESOME! I unfortunately loop'd it and listened to it far too many times. I don't know WHY I DO THAT. It is though my favourite Maru Kaite Chikyuu, maybe tied with UK's and Japan's. I did like America's and France's too, but America's was too busy while France's sounded repetitive. Russia's sounded cute but it wasn't very powerful besides the KOLKOLKOL. UK's, Japan's, and China's just sounds powerful/elegant/beautiful.
So yeah. 8D. End of this extremely long post! Good day to you!
