spottoI am going to TRY to be as unbiased as possible, but being completely unbiased IS impossible.
Yaoi.
A term that many people might not understand. Its literal definition is something not even related to what it is usually used for, but that's not the point of this rant.
A male (generally speaking) loves an Anime. It's a shounen anime. The show has maybe something like big mecha robots or guns or vampires or nekkid girls or something that shows that is generally for men. Then, there is the female, who also watches the shounen anime (shounen meaning FOR BOYS) for completely different reasons. The male loves the plot, the action, the big swords, the fighting, the epic battle between character A and character B. They like the character if they are in anyway badass, who like to cleave people in half or launch millions of missiles at some other robot. Their design is wicked awesome with clothes that can only be possibly made by custom making it themselves.
The female, generally speaking, on the other hand while enjoys the action and the blood and the explosions to some extent, loves the drama, the story and especially, the characters. Their realistic personality and how it affects their actions. Their mental image, and of course...their looks. They then see some happy friendship between male character S and male character X, and suddenly to their mind this occurs.
OMGZ THEY ARE A COUPLESLOLOL. (No offense intended, this is generally for those incredibly rabid fans of things like those who can't spell right and are like fourteen year old girls running around like screaming idiots. I'm sure every or at least most girls who have watched Anime has been one...)
The male, seeing a large fanbase begin over a pairing created in the realms of fanon starts getting pissed. No way in hell can their favourite badass character with that huge sword and vicious looking eyes is gay for some dumb other character! It is NOT possible! It will NEVER work! In fact such a character might not even like a GIRL, unless of course said girl is ALSO badass and awesome, and as a bonus, extremely incredibly sexy with righteous curves. Otherwise, to remain as awesome and badass the character is, he must be SINGLE and NOT LOOKING. The male flames the fanbase created by the female.
The female explains several hints in the roaring flaming debate over the couple. That such couple is in fact possible because of this and that, and that and this, but then the male points out that it is just friendship. (And even FRIENDSHIP is borderline in destroying the badassery of said character) and there is no chemistry between badass character and cute fluffy stupid annoying character. Then female says it is only fandom, and it looks hot and beautiful, and could bring potential exciting drama and romanticness which is, to them, awesome.
But then the male points out another pairing, one that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. In fact, have those two said characters even SPOKEN to each other!? We like to call that CRACK. There are no hints, in fact no STORY between them. The male yells at the fanbase about THAT, and then says those hints you bring up have no effect because you'd pair them together even WITHOUT hints.
Then the female asks this, why is it that YOU support the pairing between those TWO female characters over there? The male then explains that they like it because they're MALES, they like it when two girls get nekkid with each other, which the boys in the huge gagagaga fangirl base don't do at all because all females care about is piss drama crap, or how hot
Okay I can't seem to finish my rant and I haven't even got to the RANTING part, -_-;. Maybe I'll come back and finish it one day, enjoy for now...
