Aww....Maxie....
Jan. 29th, 2005 02:34 pmEpisode 45-A DISAPPOINTMENT.
I actually believe the problem was Nelvana's, since I noticed TWO GOOD PARTS CUT OFF from it. I also noticed the voice acting was VERY poor, TOO much Rick/Max, and Ming Ming should shut up...you'd think she wouldn't say anything in this episode..>>
Overall, it wasn't TOO bad, but I expected more.
I can't believe I recorded over Episode 49 of 1st season for this, XD Ah well...
Ok, let me list some detailed nitpicks first!
1) The voice acting, I can compare it to CRUD and it would be worse. I mean, the voices didn't have any PASSION, ESPECIALLY Max and Takao. It was all like, you're really really bored....and you talk in a boring tone.
"No...Max..."-Takao.
Of course Max still had some good voice acting, but when he attacked with the lightning around him, it was half-hearted. And the AUDIENCE!!! My God, they were horrible.
They sounded better when they yelled, "MING MING! MING MING!" But when they said Maxie, it was ALL over the place, and as if they were just hroribly acting it!
Of course, some good points about the voice acting. Boris.
Yes, this evil dude. When HE said Maxie, it showed some feeling, in episode 25, Max had more heart in it,when he screamed his battle cry.
2) Cuts.
There were two good scenes that were cut off from it. Those scenes really only lasted for about a split second, but it really showed some good emotion in Maxie. Where he looks sad, there IS a part that he really looks like he's crying, (even if he didn't..>>) AND, the part where you see Maxie on the ground froma great distance on water....that isn't really important, but I love that part, XD
I wanna kill Rick and replace him with Rei...>>
In other things, they also shortened the part of a close up to him ont he ground, which isn't that important..buuut...being someone who looekd so forward to this episode, it sucked.
Brad Best and AJ Topper kind of ruined this episode too...
Good points:
General storyline, very well done, Max being a hypocrite, also well done, XD Replacing mayonnaise with mustard is really bothering me though, I mean, I'm a fan of mayonnaise, like Max, but I DETEST MUSTARD.
Personal favourite quote, "Mmm...noodles, just like my style, with a little bit of ZING!"
Favourite scene, Boris and Maxie in the hallway...and when Boris said Maxie...XD
I saw a clip of the Japanese version, and it is far better than this dub. So the perfect present would be getting me the JAPANESE sub of episode 45, I NEED TO HEAR MAX'S JPN VOICE! Not Italian, not dub, JPN. Sinc ehis JPN voice actress is very good with fiddling of emotions.
Another thing bothering me: Notice that all of Max's friends didn't call him Maxie but a bunch of strangers did? O_o
The disapponitment of this episode just makes me even MORE want to put Max in Kai's position, happy cute people becoming angsty is something I ADORE... I mean, I don't know if I would want a 4th season, but I definitely want at least a movie, since seasons usually start out slow and crappy. (Always about Takao..>>) Yet movies aren't as long so...(and the Beyblade Movie isn't looking very promising to Rei or Max fans...or even Kai fans at the moment)
In other words, I WANT A MOVIE ALL ABOUT MAXIE!!
Well, there's no more episodes to look forward to now, but the last new episode I ever watched happened to be a very disappointing one, so I will not officially finish Beyblade until I get an uncut version of episode 45 (preferably JPN)
I WANT THAT FOR CHRISTMAS! I WANT THAT FOR MY BIRTHDAY! FOR ST. PATRICK'S DAY, VALENTINE'S DAY, CHINESE NEW YEAR EVEN!!!
So, I shall end this entry, with a little phrase...
Max deserves more.
