So what did I do today? I DID LOTS OF THINGS. For these past few days I had to download some games and give em to Shiroi, except they died in the middle of it, so I found another source to get those juicy games. =) But in the process of trying to get the games I could not play Soldat or I would be spiking a lot. SO, when I DID get those games, I decided to play NHL 99 on the Nintendo 64 for the time being.
Let me describe you how funny it was. I decided to create 6 characters for the first line of the Canucks, right? So these were who I created:
#50 Hyuuga Neji = Centre
#93 Yong Fa Wen = Right Wing
#15 Hyuuga Shiroi = Left Wing
#66 Aburame Shino = Defense
#29 Ticus Spot = Defense
#36 Yong Fa Li = Goaltender
First of all, UNLIKE NHL 2000 (which I played on PS1) and UNLIKE NHL 98/97 (Which I played on Genesis, the 98/97 on the SNES was crappy) The minimum height was like 4 feet and the maximum was like 7 feet, so I did this: I made Li like, 4'9, and Wen was 5'3, Shiroi was 5'10, I was 6'2, Neji was 6'3, and Shino was 6'9! (These are not supposed to be the ACTUAL heights of the ACTUAL people, I'm sure none of them are close to the actual heights, except maybe Li's and Wen's) Now whenever they scored (it's 3D) they gather around and cheer, AND WEN LOOKS SO GOD DAMNED SHORT, he was so TINY that he got BODY CHECKED (AKA TACKLED, GLOMPED, GLOMP TACKLE) more so than the rest due to this vulnerable size! In NHL 2000, 98/97, the shortest height you could choose was 5'11, and the shortest person in the actual NHL is like 5'10, so basically, Li, Wen, and possibly Shiroi seemed short compared to the other players.
But despite size, when I was doing the stats I made sure they had MAXIMUM agressiveness and MAXIMUM checking, which proved to be good because Spot and Shino are the best in injuring, but Spot has never ever fought. Neji, Wen, Shino, and ESPECIALLY Shiroi has fought, in fact Shiroi's probably my toughest player, it fights the most. Wen fought once, and it was funny. I was controlling a little midget and trying to fight some big guy, xD (I did win, so ha!) And when Shino fought ANOTHER guy just as tall as him (In the current NHL the tallest guy is 6'9) and the announcer said, "Here come the heavyweights!" Yeah. It was very fun (repetitive yes, >>)
So now I have played 4 versions of the NHL games so far, NHL 97, NHL 98, NHL 99, and NHL 2000!
I decided to review them, xP
NHL 97:
The 2nd NHL game I have ever played. This game was all I had at the time, as the first NHL game I ever played was 2000 at my cousin's house. Since I was desperate to play a game without having to go somewhere I played the old free one on the EA Sports site. I played this at the time a kid (the one who introduced me to Beyblade) lived down there. One of our hobbies was to play NHL 97 on that site. We both played and it was really fun. (We never created actual custom characters, >>) Now since it was all I had at the time, I would've rated it one of the best games ever, here is my review for NOW.
For it to be designed on Genesis, it had pretty good graphics. I liked the graphics on Genesis a lot more than SNES at the time...
I loved the gameplay a lot, but one of my favourite features that wasn't on here was the ability to knock down the goalie, 'realistically' (both ways you'd get a penalty), but here if you tried to, you would hit the goalie, but the goalie was like some diamond statue and you just fall down backwards and STILL get a penalty. It's far more satisfying to hit a goalie that gets knocked down, and then get punished, then attempting to do something bad and not able to and yet still get punished. Do you know what I mean? O_o
Another thing I enjoyed more on 2000 was that you could smash players through the glass. Although I understand how it's not in 97 as it's just a minor thing while they were focusing on other aspects of it. For some reason I couldn't get the playoffs to work on this one (oh well). But the thing in 97 that's missing in 99 is that you can smash the player into the benches! (I don't think you can do that in 2000 either) So it's all a split arguement.
One thing that 97 and 98 both have is that little screen on the top left that shows the referee about to drop the puck. In the newer versions, the referee is actually on the ice and doesn't appear magically on some screen in the left, BUT it's harder to see the top left corner thing. You could adjust the camera but I like playing it in the view I was playing it in, in 2000/99.
I always ignored the sound but I couldn't PLAY the game without the sound, so...
Let's move on to a completely different topic!!!!!
Spot and the MAJORITY.
The term "Minority" and "Majority" means nothing to Spot-TIcus, Spot Yong Fa, Spotstar, Spotsii, Spooters, Spotzors, Spoot, Spotty, etc. For Spot is either always in the middle or with the "minority"
For example, how I dress. I dress somewhat in the middle. While the fad is "skimpy clothing that shows a lot of your ass" I prefer to cover up a lot of my body, but still wear clothes a lot of people DO wear like track pants and such. But UNLIKE the majority I f**king hate denim, especially jeans. Jeans f**king suck.

MORE STUFFUS AMAGAWD:
I have played 97/98/99/and 2000 (But most people say 94 is teh best) and each of those versions had their own set of CUSTOM CHARACTERS. Observe:
NHL 97 = Clanmembers from AW/GD/SXO/etc.
First line always consisted of: COrazon Ray, Raven, Dremora, Seranox, Cermer, and Spot! Dremora being goalie, Ray and Cerm being defense, Spot was centre I think, and the other two right or left wing. O_o. We owned, bad. I think there was a 2nd line too: Apoc, Deathpasser, Onystar, I forget the rest. =P
NHL 98 = Teh BIFF
It had TWO LINES:
First line = (if I can remember) Lefty, Ami, Akira, Aoi, Spot, (Shiroi for some reason), Kiki, Cassii, Kirami, CHeese, et Ghost. =)
NHL 99 - Teh ROLEPLAY
You know. =)
NHL 2000 - NORMAL STUFF
It was on my cousin's PS1/PS2, so he created most of the characters off his likes/friends, one of them IS SPOT and KON REI though, xD
If anybody hasn't noticed, MY LJ ICON OWNS YOURS, I killed off a lot of the colours so it'd fit in the LJ filesize limit, BUT it actually made it looked cooler. It took me 2 hours too make, for it was the first time I put an AVI file, turned it GIF, and put it in an avatar before, =P
