I'm going to review episode 19 at the same time I'm watching it. (and pretend I never seen it before)

You know how stupid the first Anime's episode titles never really give a lot of hints as of what will happen? The titles are extremely generic...

Okay, let's see...hmm, walking to school. So all that Nodoka loves Negi and confession stuff isn't going to begin here...obviously. Hm, the girl in the middle looks like that girl who's always randomly around places but never talks...interesting.

"Isn't school in the morning, a little happy?" ZOMG, THAT GIRL IS NARRATING! Cute voice, ^^. Except her quote sucks, school in the morning is horribly tiring...

Slightly different faces today? How? Eh? New students? What? Hm, she feels something interesting will happen today...probably, or this episode would be boring. OMG SHE'S CHASING THE BUTTERFLY! She must be like..a carefree puppy or something! Hahaha! She jumped too high to catch the butterfly and fell down...cute! ^^ Episode's starting good so far!

...SIXTY YEARS?! She must have a secret with that youthful exterior she gives out. Wonder why she's in school if she's over 60...hmm...
Oh, she realizes she doesn't look that old...THEN THE SECRET WILL BE REVEALED AFTER THIS LINE...AND IT IS...

Woot! She caught the butterfly and...omg did that butterfly just go through her hands? O_o. I suppose if there's a robot, a vampire, magic, etc...then something like this isn't farfetched...

Yes, the beginning of the next scene is a butt shot of the scientist nerd, Hakase...wonderful way to begin it, lol.
College...must be smart. Woot! The ghost went through the wall! That's cool. They're in class now...and stuff.

Aisaka Sayo...that's the first girl on the class roster! Nice name, cute, everything seems cute...hmm, she looks like Konoka with lighter hair and red eyes...never noticed that. Heeee.

Aww, that's so sad...apparently it was some accident that killed her long ago...jibakurei hm? OMG ASAKURA...KAZUMI! How dare Asuna not use an honorfic! Lol. She looks tired...Kazumi should be smiling...hmm...newspaper, obvious. Continuing on..
Clock tower? Hm, I'll keep that in mind. Oh yes, asking for stories, Asakura...you're not supposed to do that, reporters should know things FIRST, asking someone else kind of kills it. Oooh, Sayo sits beside her, cute! =D

"There's no way I can know news that you don't know." See? Asuna's right, Kazumi asked a dumb question. (Don't yell at me with the there's no such thing as stupid questions, just stupid people thing. Asakura is clearly a smart student ala Baka Ranger's episode where they had that chart, =P)

Sayo's been at that seat for 60 years? Isn't being at one place kind of dead boring? O_o

HAHAHA! CHACHAMARU HAS A WINDER! You'd think a robot so advanced wouldn't need a winder, xD

Okay, that Zazie girl needs to learn REAL magic, =D...unless she does, which would be...purely awesome.

Oh Sayo, this year's 2-A is completely insane, stop being modest. Woot, the class pedophile and the class oldmanlover are in a fight...again. This happens way too many times, =P. The whole class loves the fights apparently...hm, 50,000 yen...isn't that like 500 bucks canadian? That's a lot of money, Asakura. She cheers for lincho though, Haruna wants monkey to win, =P Don't say the obvious, Konoka.

Holy shiz, it went from a shot of Konoka to a shot of Sayo, they look INCREDIBLY alike man. O__o

Sayo is lying to herself, just sitting there and being unnoticed...kind of lonely...feeling left out maybe? I dunno. She seems quite a happy person for a...dead person.

xDD The shocked class (besides monkey and pedo) are all just crude white drawings, that's hilarious (lazy, but hilarious)

So Sayo won't mind being in this class for years to come...she must've been in many bored classes in all the other 2-A's that happened. I feel sorry for her, seriously.

Now for something boring with the teachers, blahblahblah. Hmm, mentioned the clock tower again...interesting.

She just called Honya, a child. And now she's cheering for Yuuna in basketball, even though nobody can hear her. And now she's listening to happy classical music. Wow, I'm surprised she isn't bored is she's done all this for 60 years... EVA'S HOUSE! Yeap, same as you Sayo...perhaps not as long. Hm, the flower tsubwabuki? Yellow..bright. Flower arranging. Seems like that flower reminds Sayo of something....
Holy jeebus, it just did a half-flashback, Konoka Sayo had brown hair...now she SERIOUSLY looks like a clone of Konoka. O__o

School trip = KYOTO! WOOTS! Blah. Haha, Negi thinks Kyoto is cool because of false things, xD. Sayo Konoka just talked about Kyoto, and Setsuna seems to talk. O_o Aww, poor Sayo, can't go on the trip.

Stop breaking the fourth wall, Sayo. xD. Hmmm...apparently Kyoto is dangerous....now little boy Negi has the responsibility to protect 31 girls. That sounds like a burden, kiddo. Haha, Asakura looks so cute when she can't think of anything. (seriously she does) STOP CALLING HER WITHOUT THE HONORFIC, ASUNA! RAWR! And the paper she's writing on is interesting...

War planes...'TIS THE SECOND WORLD WAR!! O: So the sister writes (crudely, since I can recognize Japanese characters) on the wooden board, "So that mother will come back" . Aww, and Sayo could only smile back. It's sad...D: Asakura is looking in an encyclopedia...well she can always go to Yue, the walking encyclopedia....at least on philosphy! XP Oh well, hm, Kazumi just ran off, I wonder...Sayo's chasing her...

ZOMG ANOTHER FLASHBACK...it's all stormy...wow. This must be her death scene or something! CUE INTENSE WATCHING! Aww, she was protecting the tsuwabuki, for her little sister. She cares so much...the music is nice...hey, her umbrella just flew away...what does that mean? So when she said she didn't become a ghost for something vengeful...did she die like this? Due to the storm? Kind of a...sad way to die but...

Clock tower? Again? An important monument apparently! (flashback is over at this point, BTW) HEy, it has a huge garden full of tsuwabuki! This must be where the sister planted it...it's there because Sayo saved it...awww...hmmm, they're looking around and...

Wow, I'm speechless. Sayo just walked in and stepped on the wooden plank that her sister wrote for her mother to come back before, and she read it. Her sister apparently added Sayo too (by writing sister), and Sayo started to cry. Awr. Apparently through some emotional unknown force, Sayo just became visible to Kazumi who almost took a picture of her, but realized her morals and didn't. So after Sayo stopped crying, noticing that she was noticed, she asked why the paparazzi didn't take the picture...and Kazumi said it was wrong. Then Sayo thanked her...awww...

Back to class! They have finalized the groups for dangerous Kyoto! Sayo looks sad...oh right, she can't go, aww...hmm, Kazumi looks determined to do something...

She just told Negi-sensei that someone was left out (prompting a nice amusing scene of Negi going insane as to figure out who was left out) Ayaka states that nobody is, but Sayo tells Asakura-san that it's okay. She's happy that she cares, but Asakura-san goes through with it anyway and tells them it's Sayo who's left out, then the whole class gets confused because they thought she was expelled or sick or something. Negi asks if she knows who Sayo is, which leaves Asakura with nothing to say. Eva suddenly uses some spell and shockingly enough, Sayo pops into visibility, (and scaring Asakura, xD).

Then Asakura tells them she's a ghost who died in 1940, and Sayo defends the class reporter that what she's saying is the truth, Kazumi then says Sayo is not a bad evil ghost or anything, and that she's nice. Suddenly Makie and eventually the whole class are overjoyed that there's a ghost in here and try to make friends with her. Chachamaru asks Eva for the reason she used magic, and Eva states it's because she's the only one who hates the place, since Sayo loves it. It's cute, ^^. Asakura then gives Sayo the thumbs up, and Sayo blushes a bit (WOW!), and thumbs up back at her. The scene ends with Nodoka asking if Sayo has read this book.

Finally, the principal (an old dude) reads out Sayo's poem in his office, and Shizuna-sensei says it's cute and asks who wrote it. The episode ends with the principal stating that it's of a girl he liked a long time ago...aww.

Sweet episode.

NOW what I would say, (after seeing the episode several times):

One problem would be Kazumi frowned a little 'too' much in the episode. In the manga she's either smiling, gasping, in shock, or something. I've not seen her look sad or look angry, I mean she looked serious at times too, but that's about it. As FUNimation calls her, "Outgoing", but then, if she was acting really in-character the episode may not have been as 'sweet', only a speculation however.

They added legs to Sayo...can't say if that's good or bad.

Sayo is a Konoka-clone...OR Konoka is a Sayo-clone, you'll never know, xD. (I'm quite sure it's the former but then again Ken never mentioned who was the clone, only that Sayo looked too much like Konoka and he apologized for it) When I crossed out Konoka and Sayo in the review, I actually wrote the wrong character (Konoka when it's Sayo, and Sayo when it's Konoka) proves my confusion at 3am in the middle of the night, heh.

Otherwise I generally liked the episode. Being the morbid person I am, I'd prefer if they ever find out Sayo's past in the manga, that Akamatsu will go as he originally planned in his character notes that Sayo was in fact murdered. However the episode in the Anime isn't half-bad either. Also this was my favourite episode of the first Anime (even in an unbiased opinion as well, a lot of people loved this episode the most due to how much they disliked the whole Anime to begin with, xD)

The fun part, that in the dub's volume, 19 is grouped with 20, and 21 (and 22, but blah for 22), so getting this volume would be happy Kazumi/Sayo stuff and then jumping into hardcore KonoSetsu for any shoujo-ai lovers. It's cool.

Episode 22 of Negima...now I KNOW there were speculations of Anya coming since Nekane is the Black Rose Baron, but for some reason I seriously did not expect this. Also, the blogger who blogs this series is pissing me off right now. In the last few episodes she just screencapped and gave like one sentence. I figured that if the plot were back on track she'd start actually telling us IN DETAIL what happened, but again with the laziness and just another few lines of what briefly happened. It's incredibly annoying. There was a sh-tload of dialogue this episode and I just want to know what the hell they were saying, at least a synopsis. Grr.

Episode 20 and 21 were not fillers just because of this episode. Those episodes, Evangeline was feeling odd (turning into a giant, or feeling sick, or something) and in 22...it just shows why...so they never were fillers. (which is kind of cool, making fillers NOT fillers when they seemed like it, =D) In other words, Evangeline has just been possessed!



That picture looks very weird, xD. I want a figurine of that...they need to make a figurine of Possessed!Eva. =P Oh yeah, Anya's cute high voice with Eva's awesome sounding voice talking at the same time sounds AWESOME (plus some 'possessed' sound effect with it)
CHIZURU IS VERY INTELLIGENT.

Ku Fei, Mana, and Zazie cannot cheerlead.
ChiuChiu is LOL.
Ako = scary with giant needle. (I believe she killed Yuuna in that "next time on Negima!? where they never show hints in what is happening next time on Negima!?)

Oh yeah, and as usual, Kazumi and Sayo get 5 second shots with 1 line, or none, oh how limited...D: Except the ending short was of Kazumi interviewing Chamo and Motsu in some news room. It was interesting, perhaps would be more if I knew what the hell they were saying.
