HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH.

Okay. I'm going to TRY TO TYPE SOMETHING NOT ANGRY FOR ONCE. I TRIED TO UPDATE THIS JOURNAL SEVEN TIMES THIS WEEK.

GOD. BARELY COULD AT ALL. (The save draft is still sucking, had to save THIS certain

Firstly, the Canucks game yesterday in the playoffs was the longest I've ever seen. It's apparently the sixth longest overtime in NHL history.

Anyway, there's something that's been on my mind for a while. It's incredibly pointless, but I want to touch on it. I'm wondering why I like Sayo and Chisame, since they are the greatest foes of Asakura Kazumi, and if I am a hardcore Kazumi homer, I'd hate the ghost and net idol to DEATH.

Reason? Well, look at it this way.

Asakura Kazumi was introduced all the way back in volume four as a reporter who was "a slave for truth" (I'm gonna love that quote to my grave, seriously) and in the particular chapter, she discovered that Negi-sensei was in fact, A MAGE! So she found out the scoop of her dreams and was basically two seconds to her goal but failed...

That's where Chamo comes in. The perverted ermine of d00m combined his sly mind with the foxy Kazumi, and they had a little competition that ultimately ended with Nodoka getting a pactio (plus some mistake ones here and there) meaning lots of money, especially from bets, for the two mischievous greedy bastards, xP.

Where am I going with this? Well...

After this, Kazumi was a semi-important character throughout the manga. She served to be one of the more purposeful students, as in, "not that random 3-A student who is oblivious to the existence of magic and thus is not featured in such arc which is full of magicness". Although the rest of the Kyoto arc wasn't exactly in her favour. (She barely appeared anywhere) It was quite apparent to any readers that Kazumi would be a "main-ish" character from now on. Hearing Negi's story of his past, being a hostage of Wilhelm, all of these certainly point towards that direction...

Until...

That's right! The introduction of Sayo! At this moment, when Sayo is narrating her chapter, you can obviously see that Asakura Kazumi is still hanging around Negi and his buddies. Then Sayo makes her debut in a very amusing way, causing quite a ruckus that ends in Kazumi and Negi befriending the poor little ghost. However, once the festival comes around the corner, the Negi group seems to be missing one of its members...that's right, Asakura. While obviously she's still hanging around, she's not apparently with the Negi-party. She was doing a large amount of announcing. Also, when Negi and his party decides to go spend some quality time away from the present and into the future...

Asakura is not there! Who is the lone person with no friends that takes her spot?

Chisame, that is! I don't count Haruna because she was going to find out anyway, but Chisame came out of nowhere just like Asakura. They both don't seem to have ties to Negi like how Konoka is the roommate of Asuna and Setsuna protects Konoka, so those three are natural. Yue and Haruna are connected to Nodoka, while Ku Fei seems to sprout Kaede because she is Negi's master, after all. (Along with Evangeline, heh)

It is through this reasoning, that we have what we have in the Anime. In the first Anime, we don't get to see Asakura find out about Negi's magicness after the Kyoto arc, since one, they decided to screw with the timeline and put that part BEFORE the Kyoto arc, WITHOUT the knowledge of Negi is a mage, WITHOUT the Nodoka pactio (or any pactios at all or evil scheming with Chamo), and then the only other hot juicy Kazumi action is the Sayo episode. From then on, right into the second Anime, Kazumi's only appearances is whenever Sayo is around...

They say that "Sayo" didn't get any attention UNTIL Kazumi came around, but Sayo basically "stole" Kazumi's "spotlight" and their "sharing" of such spotlight downplayed "Kazumi" into an almost minor character role. It makes me sad, and yet, makes me happy that the girl is WITH Sayo. The whole fact that they are together is what makes them both MINOR, and it makes me sad...yet...not so. There's apparently no such thing as a win-win situation. Also, Chisame seemingly "replaces" her in such a role. Yet why are these characters my second and third favourites of ALL!?

I guess that's why Negima is so awesome. They're able to pull these things off and still make you happy at the same time, and yet, not. It's as if Ken forgot that pineapple head exists currently. Since Ken forgot, and doesn't care, the Anime people don't either.

[RANDOM STATEMENT]
Kazumi's hair is NOT hard to draw. Some people draw it very simply and quite small/light. (coughShiroicough) Others draw not as spiky or 'high' as I see it to be. (coughKiramicough) and some have trouble with it all together. (coughAoicough) The three people I just mentioned can feel free to flame me now, xDDD.

NEXT ENTRY = FARM STORY CH. 10

Main reason why I loved Yue back then:
