HOCKEY'S BACK!
Oct. 5th, 2007 09:34 pmWhat a week, new Negima arc, first episode of Negima Live Action, and first Canucks game (I can't say the same for school though, UGH, way to ruin it, stupid teachers, stupid morons!) Not only that but a long weekend thanks to the Canadian Thanksgiving...sadly was ruined by school-related things AGAIN (Graduation photos) DAMN YOU BASTARDS.
Anyway, today was the first game of the 'Nucks, season opener. We unfortunately lost 3-1 to the San Jose Sharks.
Lemme evaluate the new guys first:
FORWARDS
Ryan Shannon
Mason Raymond
Byron Ritchie
DEFENCE
Aaron Miller
Mike Weaver
Shannon
This guy is the new third dood for the Sedin twins, so magically he should be racking up the points, right? Wrong. He missed a million open nets. Give him a few more games and we'll see what he does. The closest was the puck on the red line, but the refs called it off. Ugh.
Mason Raymond
He was kind of...not there. I think there were a few chances but I didn't really notice him that much. :\
Ritchie
Hehe, from Calgary, and a fourth liner. He actually did pretty well, I might like this guy. (:
Miller
This guy is old...he's doing alright I guess, not a top-caliber D like say Ohlund or Salo (speaking of which he better get better already, -_-)
Weaver
I think he's the extra D filling in for Salo. He's kind of small, and yeah. Not much.
Okay, so it's kind of sad that Ritchie seems to be the best so far, and he's a fourth liner. XD
And the old doods who are still here, I'll just evaluate whoever did great or did horrible, lols.
RYAN KESLER
I loved that one shift, I had hoped it'd continue, he was still good but nothing like that shift. I think he's going to become my favourite player...since Sabby's back at Pittsburgh and Auld is hanging around Phoenix...=\
WILLIE MITCHELL
The stick! Yay! As usual was being good at the D, but didn't seem him much early on.
BRENDAN MORRISON
He scored the first goal for the Canucks. Good enough for me.
ROBERTO LUONGO
Honestly the goals were pretty good from the Sharks, but if Luongo really is like, the second best goalie of the league, I kind of expected him to at least save one of those goals. Maybe not that Thornton one (that was pretty), but something like that face-off shot or something. Still, he faced more shots than Nabokov, so the Canucks ought to shoot more (and to do that, they should actually get out of their zone more...>>)
And finally...
LUKAS KRAJICEK
He was actually quite good, surprisingly since of all the Canucks I always forget about him and was surprised that he was still here and not traded. Granted he didn't do bad last year, but nothing at all good either...maybe that's why they kept him. All and all he was pretty good, nice job.
Let's kick Calgary's ass tomorrow.
