spottoApparently the eighth Touhou popularity poll is going on RIGHT NOW. I voted in it because why not.
Until they gave me only five choices for characters...and I have two tied for fifth. LIEEEEEES!
Even so, the characters were pretty easy to choose compared to the music. I didn't even choose my favourites half the time, but a lot of stuff I loved a lot that I figure deserves more votes (and technically I have very few favourites anyway, EVERY SINGLE SONG IN TOUHOU IS GOOD. GAH.)
Nonetheless, these were my votes:
For the characters, I voted Koishi for first obviously. I was very close to bumping her down and stucking Murasa there though simply because Koishi will likely go up in the polls and I want Murasa to be higher than her poor first showing the last-time around (first place gets two points), but then I realized rather than try to manipulate the polls with a single vote...why not just go for a favourite? P: So second was Murasa. Third was Ran, and then Nazrin but as for fifth...
I decided on fifth simply from whichever song I had just listened to on my music player earlier. Both Shou and Nue's theme get stuck in my head more often than any other song, but I absolutely love this remix of Shou's theme. Because I listened to it earlier, I gave the TINY MINISCULE SLIGHT BARELY THERE edge to Shou. So I voted Shou for fifth. I still love you Nue! I still love you everything in UFO! They're technically still tied for me because it was a very spontaneous decision, voted from my subconscious because of a song I liked and recently listened to. P:
And for music, for music I mostly tried to avoid voting for stuff like Septette (even though it's like the BEST SONG EVER) because I know the majority of Touhou fans will too agree with me and thus keep it first, and so I can save my vote for a different more underappreciated song, so without further ado....

Yes you get seven choices for music. I voted for three stage themes, lol. You're probably wondering why I voted for 3rd Eye and Cosmic Mind when I mentioned not voting for popular songs a few sentences ago. Well, I have to vote for 3rd Eye because if a song makes me feel like the most awesome person in the world while I hear it on my music player, walkin' down the street--it is a definite favourite. Cosmic Mind has the best remix ever and the best EWI, and the song itself--alone...just so majestic, such a happy feeling it provides. I had to vote for it. P:
I actually don't know WHY I voted for Doll Maker when most of the song is repetitive and only one part of it I like but I did anyway, another spontaneous vote. (Plus that one video, even if it was a Marisa/Alice was very cute--used this theme for the song... I love that remix!) I once had Wind God Girl on my list, but replaced it with Riverside View because why not! Also I really like Komachi's theme. The seventh song is another stage theme, stage five of Imperishable Night, usually associated with Tewi due to being the midboss there. I SING EIENTEWI LIKE IT'S A RELIGIOUS HYMN THAT I MUST RECITE EVERY NIGHT. So bloody catchy! @_@ I do not believe I need to explain Eternal Steam Engine and Last Remote. P:
Those are my votes! As for predictions, I'm predicting SA characters shooting up due to the recent pixiv contest...and UFO characters will go up too...MoF is still strong so I believe they're still going to stay dominant. I wonder if Sanae can overthrow Reimu? That I'm not too sure about...who knows, there might be a brand new most-favourite character altogether! Remilia will probably finish the same as the last three times lol, but still. I hope PoFV characters (excluding Yuuka who's incredibly popular) stick around though, they tend to be on the declining side...PCB's been declining a bit too, but I certainly hope they don't fall too much this time. I also expect the entire cast of EoSD to be in the top twenty or thirty like last time, but who knows...there's far too many characters for proper predictions @_@. IN is kind of like a moot point in all of this because Mokou is their only strong contender (who I kind of think might fall, but I dunno).
Oh and PC-98 characters too. In fact, I predict Mima will be in first place as Touhou communities cry for her to come back! Okay so extremely unlikely to happen, but it'd be very amusing. :P Results come in like a week, so expect either rage or happiness or surprise or simply my thoughts on the results! Huzzah polls!
