So, Hockey, Anyone?

I am here to bitch in my livejournal again. YAY!
Lately I've been incredibly sarcastic, and I really don't know why. (Or do I?) But today I'm going to talk about hockey.
Like most Canuck Fans, I really hate the Calgary Flames.
Like few of the Canuck Fans, I don't have a problem with the Edmonton Oilers.
And I think I know why.
Living in Vancouver and growing up in it, with my family somewhat hockey-watchers as well, I'd just want to say this. Well, this hockey season has been the only REAL hockey-season of my life, and no, it hasn't been the best with the Canucks if you look at stats and wins and how they missed the playoffs, but that's ok. This season I experienced the time they beat Ottawa, the time they finally beat those god-damned Flames, and then go and beat those annoying Leafs. Then they finally beat Edmonton late in the season, with other exciting games such as the last game of the season versus the Avalanche .(Noronen was great!) I watched these games because it was exciting, and they won. But I feel the most disappointed when the team has really tried and still didn't win. This team has a lot of potential and talent, and in the times they do try, not all the time they have won.
For example, one game comes into my mind was when they played against the Coyotes and lost. Now, my parents, being the bandwagoners they are, started bitching at the Canucks loss and how much our team sucks and all. But in my mind they really did try in that game, and lost. Now, if you're a team that doesn't have much confidence and yet when you do have some and STILL lose, it hurts the mental mind.
Which, I believe has made this team stop trying as often. But what is in a game of hockey? Is winning everything? Is winning the only thing? Lately, if you've been with the NHL, Edmonton is going to the Finals. And I have observed them well, they try a lot. They don't have the best goalie (both in attitude and in skill) but they have a lot of effort. There is not really a player on that team you can deem a 'superstar'. Sure, Pronger's good, and Peca's doing great, but in all my life I never really knew any awesome-type of player from Edmonton since Messier and Gretzky...and that's a long time.
For example, Naslund should be called one (even though he didn't do that well this year, he landed on a NHL game cover...does that mean anything? Even though it's only for Stanley Cup winners...but that was on the lockout year...does that mean they expected the Canucks to have the cup on 2005 if the season were on? Which would put in that '12 year' thing those incredibly superstious Canuck fans believe...anyway, Naslund, Kipprusoff, Selanne, Thornton, Sakic, etc. Were called "those really good popular players" But I never could think of an Edmonton one. I didn't even know who Jason Smith was. (Who is he anyway? Are they referring to Ryan Smyth? Are those captions wrong? Is Greg Millen an idiot? ...well that last one might be true)
But, what I can say is, Edmonton almost never pissed me off this whole season, and more. The Flames probably, because of their FANS. (With the exception of Steffi, =P) But the Edmonton fans are...classy. Yes. Their team tries very hard and their fans are classy. Two things the Canucks lack...and one thing the Flames lack. Really, if I were raised in Calgary then I'd absolutely hate the Canucks, so it isn't because I like the team for who they are that I like them, it's because I was raised here and got to know them a lot, which caused me to like them. (That or Auld just rocks...regardless that he's sucking in that World Tournament thingy with Canada...XD) Yes, I REALLY hate other Canuck fans...except maybe my friend who lives across the street. Only because she doesn't care that much about winning. (Or it's just Finns...)
I hate Canuck fans and Flame fans. (There are some exceptions) They both have really crappy attitudes that I could compare with those damned Leafs. Why? Well, there's this really stupid argument going on about if someone should cheer for Edmonton or Carolina or Buffalo in the finals. One side says all Canadians should because Edmonton is representing Canada, another says they're "true" Canuck fans (who like jumping and making the bandwagon collapse, no less) and would only stick by them, and would never cheer for rivals and will cheer for teams the Canucks don't encounter much like Buffalo or Carolina or even any team not in their DIVISION. Others ARE true Canuck fans, and don't really care who wins the cup, since the Canucks are out. They only cheer for the Canucks, and they'll watch other teams raise the cup over their head, and congratulate them, but they don't CARE who wins...as long as the Canucks get the chance to raise the cup over their heads in their lifetime. That, to me, is a true Canuck fan, not one who spends most of their time bashing Flamers or Oilers.
I mean, it's ok to hate other teams, but you got to respect them as well. If Edmonton wins the cup, you don't go and say, "F**k the Oilers", you congratulate them, and then hope the Canucks beat them up next year and take the cup for 07, but don't go around insulting them without a reason to do so. The Canucks aren't a FACTOR in the Finals right now, if you're say a Ducks fan or a fan of the East teams who might've lost to the Oilers, they have their right to hate this team, but they still must respect them and congratulate them no matter what. It's not like this year is the only year of hockey left, there's still a lot to come. Sure, the Oilers beat us to the playoffs, but if you look at a team like the Canucks this year that underachieved a bit more than what people would expect, I would think the Oilers have more of a chance to grab the cup than the Canucks. If the Canucks did beat San Jose that fateful day, it meant they have the spirit to win that cup, but they lost...so it was Edmonton's chance to take it.
To end this, it'd be nice for Edmonton to win, or Buffalo for a change. Maybe even Carolina since I like their goalie. But if there is one team that wins the cup for the classiest fans and the team with the most effort, I'd give that to Edmonton no matter who wins the Stanley Cup. San Jose fans booing the Canadian Anthem just goes back to that Canada Vs. USA argument again, where Edmonton cheered no matter what. Fans that cheer for a game well done rather than a game won are fans that matter.
With that said, this has been Spot, and now back to me bitching about what my day was like.

Today was boring. I played Super Smash Brothers, LF2, Soldat, and tried Halo again in vain, then thought about making another sprite comic, or doing something on Photoshop, or even FINDING INSPIRATION TO CONTINUE FANFICTIONS....
Or even trying to daydream or finish this boring Da Vinci Book but I had no motivation to do anything...
Well, except rant in this livejournal like a wimp. =P
I can tell you one thing.
One of Spot's GREATEST CREATIONS ARE: ....THE TOAST SONG!
I shall end this entry with that song. It's my only unique song with unique lyrics and a unique tune ever...
And I would be pissed if I find out my tune was used in a different song.
I want to eat some toast!
I want to eat some toast!
Toast is good,
It has carbohydrates,
and fiber I THINK!!!
I want some toast...
It's good with butter!
I want some toast...
And cheese is good with it too!
Oh I want to eat some TOAST-roast
It's like pig on a barnyard!
Oh I want to eat some TOAST-roast
It's like cow that you kill for steak...
I want to eat some toast!
I want to eat some toast!
Toast is tasty,
It has lots of crunchness
And used to be BREAD!!!
I want some toast...
It's good with mayonnaise!
I want some toast...
And jelly is good with it too!
Oh I want to eat some TOAST-roast
Because it is some tooooooast!!!!
