When I first came upon the internet and the computer, I was but a n00b who talked in chatspeak and stuff, but now I understand the computer basics.

COMPUTER STUFF YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW TO NOT FAIL AT COMPUTERS:
-how to take a screenshot of your screen
-how to unzip zipped files (What WinRAR, extract, WinZIP, etc. are)
-What every button on your keyboard does
-how to download files
-how to upload files onto the internet
-how to not talk in chatspeak
-how to have a screenname that's not cliche like "inuyasha328589546"
-how to use basic programs, "EG: Word, Winamp, MSN Mess., etc."
-understanding the PICTURE formats, "PNG, GIF, JPG, BMP, etc."

COMPUTER STUFF YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW IF YOU ARE A RABID DOWNLOADER
-what IRC is
-how to use IRC
-how to use Bittorrent
-how to use P2P programs
-how to understand ROMS and EMULATORS

COMPUTER STUFF YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW IF YOU ARE AN ARTIST or SPRITE-MAKER, etc:
-what Photoshop is
-what MS Paint is
-what oekaki is
-how to USE MS Paint
-how to USE Photoshop (Or GIMP or Paint Shop Pro, etc.)
-how to USE oekaki
Optional:
-what oC (Open Canvas) is
-and how to use it

COMPUTER STUFF YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW IF YOU ARE A PROGRAMMER:
-what a browser is
-what WWW means
-what HTML means
-...and PHP, and javascript, and CSS, and...
-optonally a graphic program to make the layout of the site
-Visual C++ or other more complicated programing coding
-physics (for games)
-etc.

COMPUTER STUFF YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW IF YOU ARE A GAMER:
-the gaming genres!
-what LAG means
-what PING means
-what MMORPG means
-what SERVER means
-what FRAG means
-how to play that game
-what an emulator is
-what a ROM is
-what Netplay, multiplayer, etc. means

I am losing my patience. If the computer you were using wasn't your own and you were restricted to do almost ANYTHING ON IT, I would understand if you're dumb at computering, but if you own that computer or are allowed to do stuff on it, you are a sad, sad person.

I bet half of all those who use the internet do not understand the basics, the first part of my little "COMPUTER STUFF YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW", one person doesn't even know how to take a screenshot, which makes them fail at knowing what all the buttons of the keyboard does!

Secondly, I think those who cannot figure out how to unzip should seriously unplug themselves from the internet until they do, because unzipping is essential to downloading. Without unzipping, people are nothing.

Thirdly, those who want to download stuff that's huge, and want to use something such as bittorrent should learn how to take screenshots, unzip, and not chatspeak before they try doing something so "hard" like that.

IF SOMEONE WANTS TO PLAY A GAME, know the GAME'S MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS!

And finally...my brother doesn't know how to upload pictures onto the internet.

I feel sad, all this knowledge...I thought everybody knew...at least those who use the internet, anyway...
