Once upon a time in a wondrous world of FEUDAL Japan. Our story lies in an old farm owned by an old woman named...uh, Chisame Hasegawa. Okay, she's not really old, but she has this grumpy voice that makes her sound old, so, we can call her old in an insulting way, yes? She's really 16 or 15...or something, well her age doesn't really matter at this point of the story. Anyway she lived in this farm, with an internet connection. I know computers didn't exist back then, but this is a fictional story. She runs the farm so she can make money to pay internet bills. She really doesn't have enough money left over for food, but oddly enough donations to "Chiu" come in the mail often and with that she can feed herself.
Chisame owns several animals in the farm which she hates. They waste her time, mess up her clothes, and poop everywhere. Though Chisame knew it was these animals that funded her server, which she runs a website on. The animals themselves haven't the slightest clue what she does on the computer. One reason is that they're locked up in the barn all day or in a pen to run around. Another is that they're animals and probably don't even know what a computer is, but nevertheless, Chisame keeps her daily activities on the white box a secret from all, even her own animals.
One day, a man riding on a horse came to her farm and knocked on the door. It was 6am, and Chisame was sound asleep in her very well stuffed hay bed. The whacking on the door woke up Chisame, who wasn't in the greatest mood. She was up late last night doing something seemingly important on her computer. She picked up her spectacles and put them on her face. Chisame didn't need any glasses, but she preferred to wear them anyway. She slammed open the door in sleepless rage.
"What do you want so early in the damned morning!?"
The man was wearing very formal clothes, as if he had come to propose to the woman standing at the doorway.
"Delivery for "Chiu"! I am a loyal fan of that net idol and wish to meet her in person, but alas I am still doing my job. Is Chiu here to accept this package? It's from a kind gentleman up north, who wrote to you about--"
He couldn't finish his own introduction when Chisame took the package from him and immediately signed, blabbing something about Chiu not being home and that she was Chiu's maid. Chisame looked at the package and saw that the man who delivered the package had ripped open the letter that came with it and read it. It did not brighten her mood at all.
"Now leave already."
"But madam, I wish to know when the beautiful princess, Chiu, would return home so I can meet her. I wish to witness her beauty in r--"
"I said, LEAVE. Chiu would NOT like it if she finds a moron here in her property!" Chisame spat back, she was having such a good dream too.
The man bowed and left without a word, but Chisame heard under his breath a certain cuss word that she knew was meant towards her. She growled and closed her door, fastening many locks. She threw the package into a closet and closed the door, and was about to march back towards her bed when she suddenly heard a "chirp".
She decided to ignore it, figuring that it must've been some sort of toy bird one of her fans gave to her. Chisame was really the # net idol in all of the feudal internet, where she went by the alias, "Chiu", not only did she receive money from the loyal men below her, she also sometimes got gifts. The one thing she hated about presents was that they were always delivered earlier in the morning than the money. Also, the delivery man was different every time, and that annoyed her to no end.
As she was getting back into her bed, she heard another "chirp" from the closet, this time the sound was louder and more irritating. Chisame decided to go back to the closet and break the stupid toy.
When she opened the package, she was about to smack it with her large mallet, when she hesitated. The chirp did not come from a toy, but from an actual bird. It was a yellow bird sitting in the corner of the box, flapping its wings and chirping loudly. It looked hungry and cold from a long journey of travelling.
Oh great, like I need another animal.
She picked up the discarded (and opened) letter on the ground and read it out in her head, wondering who sent this monstrosity to her.
"Dearest Chiu-sama!
I finally worked hard enough for some hard-earned money so I could buy the great Chiu a present that she deserves. Your website is a shrine to me, and I knew that such a beautiful girl like you cannot always find the money to run such a heavenly website! I wanted to get you something as thanks, and just because you deserve it! I was walking in the market one day, when I saw this cute little canary in a shop. It was the only one left, and the shopkeeper told me nobody wanted it. I thought that it was a perfect present for Chiu! So I hope you keep the little fellow, her name is "Kazumi Asakura"!
From your #1 fan, Ken."
Chisame stood there for a while, dumbfounded for a few seconds. Not only did she receive another pet she has to pay money to take care of, it, being the last bird in the shop, was probably incredibly annoying and loud if nobody wanted it. Suddenly, a thought came across her mind. If she didn't want another animal, she could always cook it and eat it, since food was so scarce these days. She looked at the little bird in the box, and it was small in size. Even if she did cook it up and eat it, it would only be enough for a small snack. She groaned and walked outside towards the barn.
Why does it need a last name, anyway? It's just a dumb loud bird! In fact, why does it even need a name at all?
Chisame walked into the barn and put the yellow canary on a nest beside an egg. There was only one egg there, since Chisame ate the rest. She decided to have this egg for breakfast later, and left the bird alone. There were scattered bird seeds around the barn, which used to have a chicken, but Chisame also had cooked that and now its leftovers now sit in the fridge. The little bird decided to go take a bit when she heard an angry cry from ahead.
"Hey! Those are reserved bird seeds for Ojou-sama! DON'T TOUCH THEM!"
The canary looked up to see a dangerous white crane flying towards her. It swooped down and picked up several seeds with its talons. Kazumi heard her own stomach growl and even though the crane was much larger than her, she wanted FOOD.
"I saw the seeds first! Go find your own food!"
The crane made a menacing glare at the small canary, "I've come here to gather food for several seasons, and I've never seen you come here before. Besides, Ojou-sama is waiting, and you're in my way. I eat canaries, you know."
The bigger bird took a few more seeds and was about to fly off when another voice rang in the air. This one didn't sound as angry.
"Secchan! There you are! Are you here again for food?" a friendly little koala entered the barn.
The crane nodded rather anxiously, "O-ojou-sama! I g-got it e-especially for y-you!"
"Secchan, thank you, but I've told you so many times silly! Koalas don't eat bird seeds! They're for you to eat!" she replied.
Kazumi noticed the sudden change in the crane. First it was a menacing large being about to take her food, now it seemed incredibly nervous once the koala came. The koala must've made the crane smaller, as if the koala had some sort of great power and authority towards the crane.
"Awwww! Look Secchan, there's a cute little bird in here!" the koala pointed at Kazumi, "it must be a new one, here to replace the chicken! I wonder where she went anyway, she was such a nice chicken."
'Secchan' surprisingly agreed with the koala, "Y-yes, it is c-cute. You're v-very observant f-for n-noticing, O-ojou-sama!"
"What? But you were about to eat me!" Kazumi shouted, pointing accusingly at the crane.
The koala laughed with a distinctive 'hee hee'."I'm sure Secchan didn't mean to almost eat you!" she said.
The canary sweatdropped and decided to forget about it. As long as this koala was here. she would be safe. Finally, the koala spoke up again and bowed to the canary.
"It's good to meet you, little bird! My name is Konoka! I live on the trees near here!"
There was a moment of silence, and then Konoka poked the crane.
"Oh! Um, my n-name is S-setsuna, and I a-also live on the t-trees with O-ojou-sama...I m-mean, I sometimes visit h-her, I don't l-live with her o-of course!"
Instead of also introducing herself, Kazumi asked a question instead, "Hey, crane, do you like the koala or something?" The yellow bird had a little grin on her face, deciding to taunt the white bird for trying to steal the bird seeds.
"W-what!? N-no! I...I p-protect h-her! It i-is my d-duty as a c-crane!"
"Oh, so you DO like her that way, am I right!?" Kazumi continued.
Before Setsuna replied, she picked up the bird and plopped her into her mouth, trying to shut up the damned canary. Konoka gasped and looked at Setsuna questioningly.
"Isn't it kind of rude to eat her up before she can introduce herself, Secchan?"
Setsuna immediately spat out Kazumi, who was completely wet in saliva. The canary looked at herself in disgust, since she hated getting wet.
"Agh! Never do that! I hate being inside mouths!"
Konoka approached Kazumi and picked up the canary with her mouth, "Then let's go give you a bath!"
"Wait, I can clean myself you know!"
"No you don't! You're new here, right? You probably don't know where the water is or how to properly wash yourself without drowning! The local hamster almost drowned trying. Well, she isn't supposed to take a bath..."
Konoka headed towards the water fountain with Setsuna closely behind when they suddenly heard a crack. Looking around, Setsuna spotted the lone egg on the nest. They approached the nest of hay slowly and saw the egg crack open, and a little chick came out.
"Mama? Papa?"
Konoka dropped Kazumi onto the nest as all their attention turned towards the chick, "Awww, if only the chicken was here, she'd make a good mother, now this little chick has no mommy--"
The chick suddenly ran and hugged Setsuna, "Mama!"
"Err..." Setsuna looked down at the young bird whom still had a piece of the eggshell on its head, as if it were a hat.
The chick then pointed at Konoka, "Papa!" She started flapping her underdeveloped wings in joy and happiness.
Konoka made another distinct, 'hee hee' as she patted the little chick, "It's so adorable, and it thinks we're its parents! Let's name her Ako!"
"B-but we're n-not the p-parents...." Setsuna started.
"She doesn't have any, and she already thinks we're her parents anyway! This will be fun!"
Setsuna's cheeks started to become reddish, and she noticed Kazumi grinning mischievously at her.
"Don't make me eat you."

End of Chapter One.
That was inspired by episode 19. It's my first attempt at Negima...so yeah. And THIS is the local hamster (along with the local cow that shall be introduced later as well):

It's funny that she still has womanly curves as a suka, xD.
Bom! Baibai.
