spottoAh yes, 2007...my new year's resolution is to make a new year's resolution, which I just did, so I achieved my new year's resolution.
2007 has begun in a way I never expected. First, apparently, by the end of 2006, THREE fandoms of mine died off from climax mode gradually, starting with B-Daman, which lost its way during Halloween. Next would be Naruto, no longer do I seem to find Shino or Neji entertaining in my mind. And finally, LF2, where it seemed to have found its own path, it ran off a cliff. Now I spend my time searching for a fandom...or perhaps I DO have a new fandom. Not one I would expect, shoujo-animes tend to be side fandoms, like PGSM was a side-fandom and other things. It was on the side because I had a bigger fandom over it, however I still liked my side fandom, but now, Negima! has become...my MAIN fandom!!! Because actually to tell you the truth, Negima was the first manga I actually am attempting read the whole thing (currently waiting for the next chapter, =D), I skipped various boring parts of the Naruto manga, the only thing I could find of B-Daman manga was covers, I only read the ending of the Beyblade manga, and LF2 has a comic but I stopped reading it because it had no subs and got boring.
In SM, I watched everything and read the Sailor V manga, but not one bit of the SM manga, however I have now achieved 162 chapters of happy harem Negima, and I just have no idea why that happened. It started in my cousin's house, where I was surprised that he was even watching Negima! Because 1) IT HAS CANON SHOUJO-AI, and most people are against the gays you know, so surprising there, 2) FANSERVICE, although he is a guy...so...maybe it shouldn't be too surprising. 3) Love stuff, which I don't expect many men to like at all.
In fact I completely expected Negima to die down and go away eventually, where I never develop a favourite character or a liking for a pairing unless it's canon actually, but all of a sudden I can name my top ten favourites, I have jumped into a beautiful crack-pairing, I want more KonoSetsu, and everything is coming to place like a sudden new fandom...and then I think...
I find no one in Negima hot, in terms of shounen because it's 90% girls...so that wouldn't be the case. However I think it's true that if my favourite character did not exist, then obviously I wouldn't like such a manga (and its two animes) too much. Really, Yue (my fave, duh)'s dominant colour seems to be purple (the hair), my least favourite colour is purple. I also hate braids, high foreheads (This was due to Naruto....>>), and especially characters that fall for the main character (xD), but yet, despite all that I somehow like her, O_o.
Also, I attempted the find a clip of the dub of Negima today, the voices seriously...were so retarded it wasn't even funny. Basically everybody had a british accent (and I would understand it for NEGI only, but not lots of Japanese girls too, ><) Negi's voice sounded like a croaky old british woman trying to sound like a 10 year old boy. Asuna sounded like a man a lot, and I wasn't able to hear everybody's voice since it was only one episode.
