Well, to some people, relatives coming over is a pain. They hate their annoying cousins or naggy aunt, but some people adore their relatives. Others just don't give a damn.
My uncle from Hong Kong became my favourite relative when he kept coming to visit. You see, of the three groups of people that visit, only he has come like five times in the span of four years. Others? Twice in six years....once in ten years...
My other relatives, who live close by, well, I think I see them too often. Plus, we seem to be drifting apart. One example is my wonderful cousin, who although introduced me to both LF2 and Negima, has been too busy doing his own things. We don't seem to have much in common anymore.
There's also my cousin who works for Nintendo (don't know if he still does) who gave me a Gameboy Color as well as Super Mario Deluxe when I lost my own, this was like seven years ago. The thing is, I haven't SEEN him for a long time, and we DO live close by.
Plus, for some reason I didn't come off like a spoiled brat to them, and I usually do (unintentionally...>>;) So yeah. Great, right?
Okay, now many relatives are known for giving money. My aunt who rarely gives me money, does on occasion, and it's usually a lot. Fifty dollars actually. I'm not sure why she gives so much. On the other hand, my other aunt who tends to give me money often either gives me spare change, or twenty bucks of it's something special.
And to add in a rant, my friend's dad leaves change on the counter ALL THE TIME, and she's NEVER broke in that sense. She always has at least thirty bucks with her...o_O
But anyway, yeah...so my relatives came over today.
...and surprisingly, they gave me and my brother something. They never gave anything to us, ever...perhaps a keychain of some sort, and maybe some other things, but NOTHING of this calibre. NO one has gotten my something of THIS calibre.
That's right, TWO cameras...digital cameras...that I unexpectedly (and my brother, lol) recieved.
I was just busy playing a rare 20 minute-a-period hockey game (usually I play five minute periods) and I get interrupted (and I was a little peeved here, because it was a rare 20-minute-a-period game, against the top-rated team in the game, so I didn't want to stop until I finished)....and suddenly...CAMERAS IN BOXES ON THE TABLE FOR ME AND MY BROTHER. And I'm like, "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!?" Did I expect this? CERTAINLY not...it was very surprising...
Of course all the manuals are in Chinese because they bought in Hong Kong, but it doesn't matter...
I mean...wow? O:
Relatives don't do this much...should I be flattered? It's really expensive too...and one is those black cameras you see paparazzi with all the time. (I put the flash on and took a picture of myself with the camera like five centimetres from my face...yes, that hurt my eyes, XD), the other is really really nice. I was basically AMAZED.
Surprised, amazed, flattered...wow.
Why are they so nice? O:
I often look very sloppy when I eat crab (which I did today). You wouldn't want to give a shiny camera to someone with crab all over their mouths, but geez. I mean, "thank you" just isn't enough since it was so unexpected. There wasn't even a special occasion! Well, okay, today is Saint Patrick's Day, but people don't get presents on this holiday, they drink and party. >>;
And now Spotto shall show you the POWERS OF THESE TWO CAMERAS. (The videos were by the big black powerful one, and a few of the pictures, while the others were by the shiny camera)
^
HAMSTERS! SOUND! BETTER QUALITY ZOMG. Also, the video was taken by the big black powerful camera.
And some pictures from BETTER CAMERAS O< :
