Here is the next one. I rate it slightly over PG-13 because of...well, you'll see.
As quoted from Kirami's  friend, "Preeeetty general..." for thirteen-year-olds and up....maybe a little more than that...maybe over fifteen...because obviously every kid matures at that age, amirite?
Slightly less sappy, kind of.
Also, totally doesn't move the story lolwtf.

PART NINETEEN

The air was unusually harsh that night.
Looking out the window, all there was was the moonlight.

“Something interesting out there, Ako?”

Ako turned around while shaking her head, “No.”

It was nine o’clock at night, and there was a melancholy feeling coming over the teenage girl. The month was June; the month of someone’s birthday. She held a small package close to her chest, staring down at the fuzzy carpet of her bedroom. One of her good friends, Madoka Kugimiya, was seated on her bed. There was nothing but silence between them at this hour. Only the ticking of the clock could be heard among the tension that was built over something that happened that day. Ako kept quiet, not wanting to give out any details, but her friend was clearly concerned. The cracking sounds of the wrapping paper could be heard while Ako shuffled her package around. She eventually set it on the desk next to the clock and sighed.

“Ako, please, talk to me,” Madoka asked, pulling on the bed sheets, “I know something happened.”

Ako turned away from the girl, avoidant, “It’s…nothing.”

“You were going to confess to him today, weren’t you?” Madoka said, standing up.

The quieter girl looked up at her friend, “Wha…how did y-you know?”

“You have a present there,” Madoka pointed out, “His birthday is sometime in June. You were going to approach him…what happened Ako?”

“N-nothing happened!” Ako raised her voice, stepping forward just slightly, before realizing her outburst. She submitted back to her earlier state.

Madoka grabbed Ako by her shoulders, her eyes stern, “Something did happen. Please tell me, Ako. Don’t be afraid to talk…I’m here for you, to listen.”

“W-well…it’s just…ah…nothing really i-important…I mean…” Ako looked down at her fingers, which were twitching just a little, “It’s…”

“He rejected you?” Madoka guessed, and the reaction she got seemed to imply so.

The other girl only looked down, indicating that Madoka had unfortunately guessed correctly. A solemn smile came over the girl, who put her hand on Ako’s shoulder. Words were exchanged in only their eyes, and Ako turned to hug her friend, crying in her arms. Madoka could only hug her friend closer, wishing that all the sorrow in the world never came near the heartbroken teenager, but wishes always seemed to go the other way. She too looked out the window only to see a full moon glistening upon the cruel and unfair earth. Their moment of silence was broken by the door bell.

Madoka parted from the distressed teen, “That must be my dad…maybe I should ask to sleep over…”

“No, no…it’s okay Kugimin, I’ll be f-fine…really,” Ako sniffed, wiping her tears onto a handkerchief. She sat onto her bed, about to fall flat on her back to close her eyes. She just wanted to forget the day, which had gone by so slow but at the same time was unbearably agonizing. A good long nap would do her good, at least for now. The bottomless feeling inside her chest would not go away for a long time, but a good rest would take that away temporarily at least. Ako yawned, settling into her bed. Madoka stepped up to the futon and was about to tuck her friend in, but relaxation was not what they would be getting…

“Ako! Come down here for a second!” A call came from downstairs; it was Ako’s mom. She slowly stood up from her bed, disappointed that she couldn’t have fallen asleep right there.

Madoka frowned, “Parents always call at the worst of times, huh?”

“It’ll just be for a minute I guess,” Ako mumbled while heading downstairs. She saw two tall dark strangers standing by the doorway; certainly none was Madoka’s father.

At the end of the staircase, Ako stopped. The two men started walking towards her and somehow the small girl felt threatened. They stopped just before they could bump into her, and the shorter man flashed out his police badge, “Ako Izumi?”

 “Uhm…yes?”

The taller one suddenly grabbed Ako by her forearm, “You are under arrest for aggravated assault causing bodily harm. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do can be used against you…”

Ako’s eyes widened as she heard the click of handcuffs lock away her freedom behind her back. Her mother was not so cooperative, “Wait wait! What are you doing arresting my daughter!?”

“We have a reason to suspect your daughter being involved in a violent attack a few days ago,” The taller man said, pulling Ako towards the door. Madoka also did not react too kindly.

“This is a mistake! Ako is not violent! The last thing she needs now is this!” Madoka argued, but it was all futile. Ako herself was too shocked to say a word, perhaps overcome with all the events pummelling down onto her.

Her mother ran out the door, tugging on the policeman, “At least let her change out of her pajamas! Have some modesty, officers!”

“We need to get her to the station as soon as possible. Please understand,” He said. Ako was pushed inside the squad car and her the door slam close. She turned to see an extremely agitated Madoka running towards the car.

“Come on! Have some common sense! A fourteen-year-old girl would not be running around committing such violent crimes! Ako doesn’t need this, none of us do! This is all a mistake! You’re only hurting her by doing this, for the love of god!” She yelled, shaking her fist. The squad car quickly drove off, but Ako could still hear the shouts of her friend, and she herself did not even blink during that whole process.

 “…w-what just happened?”

Light from the sun’s rays evaporated the image of the back of the squad car away. Ako sat up, staring at her surroundings. She was in her familiar cell…how long had she been here anyway? It seemed so far away when she was just arrested, thinking that everything was a simple mistake. She really didn’t see herself inside this place even when she was in court, but now that was a reality. She turned to see the desk clock sitting in its usual spot on the table. It read ten fifteen. She had technically slept in.

 “Ah, Ako! You awake?”

A sudden stench overcame Ako’s senses, causing her to immediately cover her nose. She turned to see Yuuna sitting on a stool, just stretching herself. It didn’t look like her cellmate seemed to notice the odour, “Oh right. We haven’t bathed yet from when we fell in the trash bin last night…”

“Eh…” Ako closed her eyes, “When can we go to the showers?”

Yuuna stood up, resting her shoulder on the windowsill, “Probably not for a while. We’re on lockdown, and they gotta restore order to this place too. That’s probably why we haven’t been served breakfast yet…”

“Oh no, I don’t want to smell like this for such a long time…” Ako frowned, wishing to just fall back asleep even if she was dreaming of unpleasant memories.

“Just because we haven’t gone to the showers doesn’t mean we can’t take a bath,” Yuuna said, suddenly shooting off a mischievous grin.

Ako cocked her head by a centimetre or so, “Wha…?”

“Hmm…I’m not sure you’ll approve of this though,” Yuuna added, rubbing her chin in thought.

“Whatever it is that’ll rid us of this smell,” responded Ako, curious as to what Yuuna was aiming for.

The brunette jumped up, oddly enough a little joyful, “Alright then! Come down here and let The Kid show you what us inmates do to clean ourselves during lockdown!” She started pulling Ako by the pant leg, showing off a strange eagerness, “The faster you get down here the faster that smell disappears!”

“Okay, I’m coming down. No need to pull!” Ako adopted the air of cheer as well, smiling a little as she climbed down the bunk. She landed on the ground softly, and quickly stood back up, facing her cellmate.

Yuuna grinned, “Are you ready?”

 “Uhm…I guess?” Ako answered nervously.

 “Alright. STRIP!”

“Wha—” Ako found herself being tackled to the floor, with her cellmate forcibly tearing all her clothes off as if she had poisonous spiders and scorpions crawling all over her body and Yuuna was trying to save her life. She was going so fast that by the time Ako could react Yuuna was already down to her bra and panties.

“What…what are you doing!?” Ako demanded, grabbing Yuuna’s forearm instinctually.

Yuuna sighed, resting on her elbows on the ground, “You can’t take a bath if you’re not naked. Isn’t that obvious?”

“Well…uhm, I figure I’d undress myself,” replied Ako, blushing.

“Oh. Why didn’t you say so?” Yuuna smiled, standing up. She too started to undress herself, until she was down to her bare essentials.

The brunette beamed, this time rather humbly, “We’ll have to get rid of these too to bathe, y’know.” She pointed at Ako’s undergarments as well as her own’s, “Pretty much everything.”

Ako nodded nervously, chuckling, “Everything? Even your bandage there?” She pointed at the white dressing wrapped around Yuuna’s right arm. She peered at it for a while, and started to unwrap it, “Huh! I guess so!”

She noticed something under the bind Yuuna was removing. Was it a scar similar to her own, or something completely different? After a few minutes Yuuna unravelled the cloth and put it on the floor, “Hm, nice to feel some air here at this part of my arm. I almost forgot I had a tattoo there!”

 “Tattoo?” Ako questioned.

“Ah, this is the symbol of our gang! See, it’s a mythical dragon; the wings are shaped as an ‘M’, for Mahora,” Yuuna explained, “For my tattoo the tail wraps around my whole forearm and wrist. It took a long time to mark this, quite an experience it was!”

Ako asked, “Why was a bandage around it?”

“I got quite a reaction to the needle after I got this done, so I kept that thing around it until it got better…and I just forgot to take it off, haha,” Yuuna nudged her eyebrows, “Hm, it looks fiiine!”

“How come I never see a tattoo like that on anybody else in the gang?” Ako asked, curious.

“They’re all hidden,” Yuuna replied, “They were our first tattoos…so we got some pretty bad reactions since we used a homemade tattoo gun, which was probably why we ended up getting known for our bandages more than our tattoo…heh.” She chuckled a bit while staring at her own permanent symbol of the gang.

She pointed at the doorway, “Next time we’re in the showers, I’ll ask them to show you their various tattoos! You’ll be especially amazed at how much Asakura has, actually.”

“That makes sense, being the gang leader—”

SPLASH!

Ako found herself completely soaked before she could finish her statement, and turned to see that Yuuna had dumped a bucket of water over her, “What was that!?”

“Can’t take a bath without water!” Her cellmate winked, showing her teeth the entire time.

“Where’d you get the water from!?” Ako asked, starting to feel the chills of being wet.

Yuuna pointed, “The sink, where else am I going to get water from?”

“We’re going to bathe ourselves using the sink!?” AKo exclaimed, in disbelief.

“Well duh, it’s not like I can magically make a bathtub poof out of nowhere,” replied the brunette, “Unless you feel using the toilet water is more effective.” She raised her eyebrow, wondering if that was what Ako preferred, and she got the expected response.

The younger girl shook her head, “No, of course not! I just didn’t really think we’d be using the sink…that’s all…”

Yuuna refilled the bucket with more water, and a mischievous grin appeared on her face, “Don’t make me chase you! Sit on the stool, Ako! I’ll help you wash your back.”

Ako uneasily sat down, letting her cellmate to lavishly scrub her back with their only bar of soap. She wasn’t as rough as Ako expected, and for that she was glad. In fact, it felt like Yuuna was treating her skin in a soothing gentle way, something that clashed with her personality. The way she cleansed her back started to feel relaxing to Ako, almost as if she could just fall asleep right there and then, not having to worry about anything for the rest of her life. It was too bad that feeling wasn’t realistic. She closed her eyes and imagined sitting under a warm waterfall, with a rainbow arcing directly above her. The sounds of songbirds could be heard from every direction while the sun shined upon the world without clouds to get into its way. It was a feeling of peace and freedom.

“You have a rather large scar here Ako…how’d this happen?” Yuuna asked, “I usually wash people with more force but I kind of don’t want to because of this…”

Ako snapped out of her daydream, and realized she had completely forgotten about her scar. Something she was so self-conscious about was pushed aside due to recent events, and Ako could barely believe it, “Uhh…what h-happened? Uhm…well…I…uh…”

“It’s really big too. You probably would have died from a wound so big. Did something this traumatic really happen to you?” The brunette was getting even more curious, “Makes me feel like I don’t know you. You’re really mysterious, you know?”

The inmate looked down at her hands, twiddling them nervously, “I don’t think I know myself either…”

 “What was that?” Yuuna asked.

 “Oh, nothing,” Ako replied.

Her cellmate shrugged and continued washing her friend’s back, which surprised Ako, “You’re really…accepting today.”

“Eh? Accepting?” She exclaimed, dunking her bar of soap into the bucket of water, “Whatever do you mean?”

Ako shook her head, “Uhm, it’s nothing.”

“Oh…okay,” Yuuna said, and continued on doing her business.

“See?” The shorter girl pointed out, “Accepting.”

Yuuna chuckled, “After all that has happened I don’t want to stress you out by pushing out answers to questions you may not want to answer…I’m not Asakura, heh.”

“But it’s not like you,” Ako said, “Almost as if…”

Suddenly, her cellmate wrapped her arms around Ako’s very wet and naked body, surprising her, “Is this like me?”

“Uh…” A wave of redness settled itself onto Ako’s cheeks and she sat motionless, not knowing what to say or do. She felt Yuuna’s rather developed chest pushing against her back, despite the fact that it could barely feel due to her scar, but she could still feel the texture of Yuuna’s mesmerizing assets. The warm breath of her cellmate could be felt exhaling onto Ako’s neck, and she could only grow redder.

 “Y-Y-Y-Y-Yuuna…?”

The brunette could only smile in response while her hands started to caress all around the smaller girl’s body. She could feel her smooth pale skin as her fingers wandered around exploring what other wonders this sweet body held. Her hand was descending downwards, from her petite rounded breasts to the natural concave curves of her stomach, and still slowly trailing down. Ako remained still, and felt the warm breath on her neck getting warmer. She felt the brunette’s movement behind her shift while the inmate brought her mouth towards the younger girl’s exposed neck, her fingers about to travel to their destination…

“Ah…” Yuuna stopped herself in her tracks, and immediately let go of Ako, “I got carried away.”

Ako did not say anything, but responded by lighting up the room with her incredible blush.

Yuuna herself started to resemble Ako by colour, “Damn…sorry, I got a little…overly intimate there. I forgot you don’t really feel that way. Heh, stuff like that shouldn’t be allowed…”

“D-D-DON’T SAY THAT AFTER YOU JUST DID IT!” Ako finally spoke, turning rapidly to face Yuuna and rivalled the girl in redness.

Her cellmate laughed nervously, “Ah…really I didn’t mean it…should I be charged with sexual harassment now or something?” She was half-joking, shuffling the back of her hair, anxious, “It’s not like you really resisted or anything…”

“That’s like having sex with someone who can’t say ‘no’,” Ako glared at Yuuna, but her glare was shortlived as she too didn’t seem to mind what just happened. In fact, it almost felt…good, almost.

Yuuna grabbed the bar of soap and peered at Ako’s hair, “Shall I wash your hair for you too?”

“My hair’s not really that hard to wash. I don’t think I need someone else to wash it…” Ako reasoned, feeling the dampness of her short hair.

The brunette grinned, “What if I just want to?”

“…and that isn’t creepy at all, nope,” Ako replied. Her body started to shiver, like it was responding to the tender treatment Yuuna was giving to it just minutes ago. She looked up to see an extraordinary sight, something she had never had the chance to view ever before. Yuuna stared at Ako strangely while she let her flowing hair down, which reached past her shoulders. Ako could only stare with wide eyes.

 “What?” Yuuna asked.

Ako mumbled, “You…you never let your hair down before.”

“…is doing that forbidden or something?” She was not getting it.

Ako gawked, jaw lowered to as far as it possibly could go, “You look…you look…”

“I figure you aren’t going to let me wash your hair, so I thought maybe you might want to wash mine,” Yuuna beamed, “I don’t let it down very often, so…”

“…gorgeous,” Ako finished. Her mouth remained open.

The brunette blinked, stunned by Ako’s sudden compliment. She noticed her own cheeks being accented with the shade of bright red, fading at each side and blending in perfectly on her face, “Uhh…Ako?”

“You’re not seriously considering letting my unworthy hands cleanse those heavenly locks, are you?” Ako stated, still entranced by the beauty of Yuuna’s flowing angelic hair. She slowly brought her hand up to each strand of Yuuna’s luxurious mane, stroking the full and rich threads of Eden with precise care.

Yuuna snickered, “You can stop molesting my hair now.”

“Ehh!? Don’t word it like that!” Ako quickly pulled her hand back to her side, snapping out of her trance, “You look very pretty with your hair down! You should leave it down more often!”

She shook her head while laughing, “Naw. I’ll keep it up even more, just to spite you.”

“Yuuuuuuuna!” Ako whined, a cute dejected frown came upon her face, which only amused the brunette even more.

Half an hour later, the two finally finished their rather long bath, not that they intended for it to last so long. They were both rather cold for being wet for so long. Yuuna quickly grabbed a towel and draped it over Ako’s trembling body, and took another for herself. She left her hair down to let it dry, and that only made Ako smile more. Yuuna stood up and headed for the window. She looked outside through the foggy glass and could make out several branches of the environment. Her smile was not as intense as her usual grin though, more like a calm serene kind of smile, which conveyed her emotion at the time. Ako only watched her cellmate peering out the glass.

She partly opened her eyes, “You really are a mysterious person, Ako…I wish I knew more about you.”

“I wish I knew more about me too…” Ako whispered, lowering her eyelids and turning her sight to the corner.

Yuuna surprisingly heard her, “What? You don’t know about yourself?”

Ako walked to the bed and sat down, sighing, “To tell you the truth, there are parts of my life I can’t even remember, including how I got that scar and what happened that caused me to end up in this place. Almost like the me right now is just…a fragment of my true self.”

“Ako…” Yuuna said, wanting to somehow comfort her.

“Sometimes…sometimes I wish I remember what happened, even if that memory is unpleasant,” She started, looking up to see those all familiar ceiling cracks, “Even if what I remember is hitting someone in the head with a crowbar…I would feel better knowing that I’m getting punished for something, rather than nothing…”

Her companion frowned, putting a hand on Ako’s shoulder, “They’re just careless idiots who made a mistake, don’t worry about it…”

“But that’s just it, Yuuna!” Ako tightened one of her hands into a fist, cringing, “If I can’t remember such important things in my life…maybe I really did do it. Maybe there’s another side of me…angry and violent…and I really went ahead and did that. The evidence, the witnesses…it just doesn’t seem plausible that it was a mistake…” She felt frustration hitting her harder than ever before, “Even if I was acting completely heartless…I want to at least remember it…so this feeling of emptiness would go away…”

Yuuna grew completely serious, “It would be replaced by guilt.”

“Huh?” Ako looked up at Yuuna, noticing a sombre mood in the air.

“Emptiness must be such a disheartening feeling, but guilt…guilt makes you feel completely disgraceful. I would take emptiness over guilt anytime,” Yuuna started. She sat down on the bed next to Ako, “I never knew you felt this way, Ako. Even if your memory may not be as reliable as I had thought…I still think you’re innocent.”

Ako felt her eyes dampening as she gripped onto her towel, “B-but…you have no basis whatsoever…”

“Basis? Heh…I got you. You’re enough basis for me,” Yuuna grinned, “Nope; I will never believe that someone like you would do something like that, never. No matter what they put in front of me to make to think different…you’re definitely innocent, Ako!”

She rested her head on Yuuna’s shoulder, feeling a little tired, “Such blind stubborn faith, Yuuna…”

“Call it what you want!” Yuuna said, “It’s what I will always believe straight to my deathbed and beyond…no matter how stupid it seems, ‘cause that is the one thing I will stick by for the rest of my life!”

“You still going to believe that even if they had a video tape of me assaulting that guy?” Ako asked, putting her hand on Yuuna’s wrist.

Yuuna nodded, “But of course.”

“What if they invented a time machine and slung you back in time to that very moment, and you saw me hurting him?” Ako continued with her hypothetical questions.

 “I will still believe.”

Ako snuggled closely to Yuuna, not realizing how affectionate she was being towards her, “Talking to you makes me feel so relaxed now…”

“Heh…I don’t deserve you, and you deserve better,” Yuuna murmured into Ako’s ear, closing her eyes herself.

“You’re right, you deserve nothing,” Ako began, “but there are tons of people in the world who don’t deserve a thing yet have so much, and then those who deserve so much yet have nothing…”

Yuuna replied softly, “’that supposed to be an excuse for you?”

“No, this is.” Ako leisurely reached up and hovered closer to Yuuna’s face until she barely touched her with her nose. She quickly gave Yuuna a quick brush on her cheek with her lips, then eased back onto the bed. Yuuna’s eyes jolted open from that unexpected performance of intimacy and her cheeks easily switched on the red alert.

“Uh…w-w-what was that?” Yuuna muttered, shocked, “I t-t-thought you didn’t…”

Ako already started falling asleep despite the fact that it was almost noon; she cuddled closer to her friend, perhaps more.

 “I never said no.”

That afternoon their lunches went cold, since they were too busy napping away in the same bed and wearing practically nothing but their towels, which they let go of anyway. For once Ako started to dream of something a little more positive, one that left Ako with a smile on her face. Her warmth was finally secure in the arms of a beautiful brunette named Yuuna Akashi…
