Of course the only reason Spotto posts here is fandom reasons, well you're correct. 



 

 

 

I’m going to introduce any readers out there (if there are any…I highly doubt it, but writing this for fun is good enough for me) my neighbourhood in Sims 2. I’m sure you’ve all assumed that I’m bored, but that’s only partly the reason.

 

I mean, if something devastating were to happen to my neighbourhood, let us not hope for such, but if something did…a scrapbook of memories is a good idea right? I would think so!

 

So, when I got this game instead of using one of the premade neighbourhoods, I went straight for my very own custom one. I wasn’t very creative since I chose the first terrain. I also wasn’t very creative because I named the neighnourhood….HETALIA TOWN.

 

I admit I got the game because I wanted to try out the Hetalia Sims that were created. (( rechter_sims)) and I think Maxis or EA or whoever owns sims now should thank that person and Hetalia and the creator because I think many people went out and bought the game due to those Sims. Yes, that’s how popular I believe this fandom is.

 

Nonetheless, today my neighbourhood has expanded in such that I do not only play with the Allies family, for example but with many other families. That makes the game successful right? I not only went to play it for what interested me, but more! I should stop making this entry sound like an advertisement now.

 

Well, I’ll obviously show you all what my neighbourhood even looks like! …at the end of this giant entry. For now, here’s what it looked like at the beginning.

Does it look expanded to you now? Today I added three community lots: A nightclub, a bowling/gambling place, and an outdoor ice rink for my Canadian pride. But instead of talking about the newest things I did, we should rewind all the way back when I only had the base game.

 

The very first house I built looked like this.

I misinterpreted the lots’ size and thought they were pretty small at first, and thus used one the biggest lot sizes I could choose at the time (there are bigger ones now in the current expansion pack) and I ended up with gigantic washrooms. Well, on the bright side Sims won’t get trapped in tiny washrooms…

 

This was bigger than their bedrooms, lol.
 

And obviously, since I got the game for Hetalia Sims, the Allies are my first family!

 

They all look so nice and happy...how inaccurate that is. Oh, this was before I went and got Ivan's scarf mesh and Alfred's glasses.
 

As you can clearly see in that picture, Ivan and Yao are already married. The rest of them are up for grabs. I made Alfred and Arthur brothers, and thus did not have the ability to initiate US/UK (not that I’m fond of that pairing anyway…) and besides, about 90% of the time in Hetalia the term “brother” or “sibling” is used in a very different context and shouldn’t really translate to the same thing when they’re turned into Sims with very human relationships anyway, but I digress.

 

But this entry isn’t about that, moving on…

 

I think I played with this house and this family without expanding whatsoever at all for quite a long time. Seeing as they were nations, I turned aging off and threw three of them into careers. I could talk about this family endlessly being my most played one, so I’m just going to keep everything brief, in a timeline!

 

I already had nightlife in the Double Deluxe package, which I think makes the game easier for some reason (after I got more expo packs, the game got CONSIDERABLY harder) so I had them all in platinum mood pretty easily actually.

 

They moved in, burnt their food in the kitchen, and caused many fires. I’m sure that’s the case with many families starting out. Alfred has the record of being present at the fire the most, but I’m pretty sure Arthur has the record of starting fires. (And Yao with the record of….not being there for the fire :P )

 

Alfred should be used to this.
 

I got three people a job, Yao, Francis, and Arthur. Only two of them actually still have that particular job to this day, and Francis actually reached the top of his already. Yao’s getting close. At the moment he is a surgeon stealing kidneys to sell…I mean, saving lives, and Francis is a professional party guest now, hitting on important people (; .

 

Arthur was very rocky with his job, which was a boring business job (that I think would fit more for HK…if I HAD an HK Sim) and he managed to reach Junior Executive before my horrible luck with chance cards got him fired.

 

This did not bode well for a Sim with a money aspiration.

 

So I figured since Arthur was a pirate…make him a criminal. It was a success. Today Arthur is a Criminal Mastermind. : D

As for the other two, I left Ivan unemployed for the longest. I got Alfred a job in the athletic career track, but the very first chance card got him fired because I chose the VERY ALFRED-LIKE option of the two. Nonetheless, I decided to throw him into the law enforcement career track afterwards, which was very interesting due to Arthur being a criminal, neheheheh. (Captain Hero is just screaming to be reached by Alfred)

 

I had the hardest time with Ivan. For some deranged reason I gave him a family aspiration, so I suppose leaving him at home makes sense. Except Ivan still has communist blood in him, and thus should still work.

 

So I threw him in law enforcement too, my logic is awesome.

Some days later I randomly made Francis flirt with Arthur, somehow that turned into love. The funny thing is their star signs actually hate each other, but eh, I like FrUK, so why not? I accidentally clicked propose after they first kissed…as if Arthur would accept. (And also, Francis is a romance Sim so that was a no-no anyway, xDDD). Oddly enough in Francis’ memories, there’s a sad memory that Arthur declined his proposal for marriage…shouldn’t it be happy?

 

These two also took the first date I ever played on Nightlife, so I actually started using my expansion pack at this point. The date was great, got a letter.

 

Many many Sim days later, I think I started getting bored, perhaps. Also at the time my very favourite Hetalia character was Korea, and I really wanted to play him, but there was none available created of him.

 

So I created him:

Yes, I used all the Maxi stuff so he looks like crap. I also didn’t do a very good job on his face. Today he has improved looks, but it’s just not as good. I’ll have to perform surgery on him someday.

 

At first I moved Yong Soo into the house next door, which had no paint and basically looked pretty shitty. I played for a while and lo’ and behold, neighbours were coming to greet him~! I saw two townies and wasn’t very interested, but suddenly Alfred was there!

Favouritism immediately kicked in, and Yong Soo completely ignored the townies (…who were girls, lol) and went for Alfred. I basically made them chat ,and queued chat about nine more times after that, so…they were going to be friends for sure if their interests didn’t clash XD. The only reason Alfred went home was because he was hungry.

 

Days later, friends became best friends, and best friends became…love? What?

 

At that time Alfred/Yong Soo was certainly not one of my pairings, but I didn’t dislike it either. I mean I’ve read one fic of it at this point, but it wasn’t very high on my standings. (Unlike something like Russia/China at the time) I was pretty aloof to it, so I figured I’d give something like this a chance.

Silly me thought asking sex on the day they fell in love was a great idea! Just like accidentally proposing to Arthur! Actually, knowing the real personalities of the characters, I bet they totally would have went for it, but poor Yong Soo was turned down. I put Yong Soo’s outgoing level at nine…if I ever restart my neighbourhood someone should remind me to make Francis’ outgoing level 9+….what I discovered was amusing.

Anywho, I didn’t feel like loading two houses one at a time to play one or the other very fun (stupid load times!) so I found a mirror that allowed me to make Yong Soo move in. (Rather retarded because I found out days later that he could have just proposed for him to move in, but eh.) 

 

This pairing has gone very far though, from the first days they fell in love with me being iffy about the pairing, to the two being MARRIED. Yes that’s right, the first marriage that occurred in game which I watched. It was very amazing. 

 

And to describe careers, Yong Soo is working his way up to Rock God (it’s in his Lifetime Want). At first he was a gamer (Yes, I kept him unemployed until I got Seasons) which actually fit him very well but I switched once Yong Soo just became obsessed with the piano, maybe after he fulfills Rock God I can make him become an awesome pro-gamer.

Before I end off the Allies, I must talk about an annoying townie. He is named Dickson Bertino in the game and fell in love with Arthur. He then got into a fight with Yong Soo too many times to count, and Yong Soo lost them all. Then for some reason everybody started to hit on him.

 

I got so annoyed I drowned him in the pool. T’was my first Sim death. He kept popping up again though, and that was very…unamusing. (Even after I thought I sold his grave, but it reappeared again O__o. That put me off killing Sims for a LONG while. )

And that’s the Allies~! I could talk about them much much more, but alas I must move on. (Unless I describe the pets, which are Sasha, Jeanne, and later on…Benny and Hong Kong, we’ll get to them soon P: )

 

At some point, I think when I bought Seasons, I decided to finally download the other Hetalia Sims I was neglecting. So I did. 

 

I made the Baltics first. Nevermind, I actually made the Germans first...oh well. I wasn’t very fond of their Sims besides Latvia. (Raivis looks AMAZING…a little too emo, BUT AMAZING) and that actually slightly changes with another Sim later on, but anywho.

I moved them next door, where Yong Soo’s house used to be. I wasn’t exactly being very creative with the house. I probably built it in like 15 minutes, then zoomed on to create the Germans. Admittedly I didn’t play with these Sims as much (with the exception of one particular Sim) which I will describe now.

For some reason the mesh for her bow was not in the download, and I can’t find it, so I had to leave her blonde hair all exposed (D: ) but for some strange reason she got along with all my other Sims the most. That makes absolutely no sense. It would make even less sense if it was with Ivan (they ARE friends…and siblings, but like, over 50 score) but her best friend apparently is Yong Soo.

 

Well, both she and Yong Soo have very low “nice” settings, as does Ivan and a few others. I actually have a harder time making friends with Sims with high nice settings…like Yao. That makes no sense.

 

His only friends...that he'll eat later.

 

I suppose it has to do with the outgoing score or playful score. Natalia’s outgoing score is quite high, but only because I thought she was very bold in terms of hunting out her brother and other people with a knife, so I figured that would fit nicely. I suppose it’s also a great way of making friends…supposedly.

 

Let’s move on.

 

The GERMAN Family…I have played the least out of the three, and not because I don’t like them (overall I actually like them a fair well better than the Baltics) but I suppose since I like certain individuals in the Baltics more than the entire German family that leaves them hanging. Nonetheless, Prussia was already hilarious. 

 

Prussia is really just a recolour of England...which doesn't sound right, lol.
 

He stole the newspaper in front of Alfred once, and is generally very rude. Austria also got hit by lightning the first day they moved in!

The amount of lightning that occurred when they moved in was a record-breaker.

 

Switzerland is a very… different case. I’ll describe later in a different “family”. Liechtenstein is Liechtenstein, and Hungary. Well, the funniest thing I had of Hungary was when I was playing with some visitor controller thing I got from (( here )). I was playing the Allies and discovered where the Visitor Controller WAS (I had to click the Sim itself!) and played with it a bit.

 

I blame Kirami for what I did next. There was one option to force NEKKID on all visitors, which I clicked. Nothing changed, I had the entire Baltic household over and none of them were naked. (With the exception of Estonia, left him at home XDDD. He’s too cool for the Allies) 

 

That was when I realized the thing worked for any visitors that came by after I enabled the option, and lo and behold, a naked Hungary was walking by the house. Arthur was going to work in his gay burglar outfit, so he was walking by and was the one who screamed like a girl at her!

 

This has nothing to do with the text, but who can say no to Yao and Yong Soo singing karaeoke?

 

T’was amusing indeed.

 

Moooving on.

 

At this point I decided to expand further. I actually created a random family sometime after the Allies to give them some random neighbours, cleverly called The Random Family. I never ever play them, they’re just there.

 

Bobby Random, Dooge Random, and Bodge Random. My names are totally awesome.

 

The male is actually one of Yao’s few friends who Ivan will not beat up in jealousy. (Maybe THAT’S why Yao has no friends… )

 

The very next family I started was special.

 

Oh yes. There was only one family member, and I killed him, but he was special.
