YEEAAAAHHHH

spottoHello 2011! What do I have in store for you today? Well, besides Touhou!
You know how if I cannot figure out a proper favourite character I probably won't like it at all. That character must pull on my heartstrings, must rocket into badassery, and must be cute. That last one isn't hard to do considering that the entire cast is pretty much that. Of course one of the biggest reasons I am into Touhou (besides playing waaaay too much Touhoumon and the fandom) is the excellent music. This isn't a "HURRDURR SPOTTO HAS THIS OPINION AND ONLY SHE DOES BECAUSE SHE'S SILLY LIKE THAT" everyone I know loves this music, and I know a majority of people into Touhou (majority? More like 100%!!) are like music FTW!! Anyway I realize the root of this entire thing are those bullet hell games, which I actually have tried. I'm very bad at it, which is predictable because these games are not for the weak. (IT'S NOT POKEMON, IT'S BULLET HELL!!)
But the fighting games are quite awesome. At the very least I enjoy playing those. Perhaps someday when I find some free time I will attempt those bullet hells. (Some more, that is) Oh yes, you might be wondering why I'm STILL playing Touhoumon when I'm actually very close to finishing it all those days ago, well I started playing the Emerald version, have an entire new party (with the exception of Marisa, not because I care about her or love her lots but starter choice was VERY limited so...Marisa it is!)
And started is a bit of a lie, I'm at Victory Road in Emerald. I can't be bothered to post pictures this time but here's my party:
Starter was Marisa, she became an EMarisa like last time (I should've evolved her differently to be different >< )
She's level 62 atm, her nature is naive. She does not stand out among my Touhoumon in any particularly category but has tons of stats in every one of them anyway.
My next Touhoumon still in my party is Wriggle who is now an EWriggle who sadly looks far too feminine as an EWriggle to be Wriggle. I never planned to keep Wriggle in my party but she saved my butt one too many times and now I rely on her quite a bit, especially since I lack a dark type so her as a bug type can destroy psychics/ghosts types for me. (However, nowadays with my newer touhoumon this necessity hasn't been called to often) Of my party she has the highest defense, but she's by no means a tank (that means I have no tanks...lololol).
I then went and caught a CReisen in a cave early on (Scarlet Cave), and she remained incredibly useless (as I refused to evolve her and chibi stats are completely awful, so she died a lot lol) until I finally obtained a Sun Stone and she became an AReisen. AReisen is based off of the Reisen in Advent Cirno which is a touhou doujin based on the Advent Children story and a few other games. The characters look pretty badass there, and Reisen dressed as Vincent Valentine is amazing. So she is here. She has the highest special defense and speed of my party, but her forte is actually special attack...it's just that I have no tank so she just happens to have the most defense. >_>
Next, I spent about half-an-hour wandering through Oni Cave to find the only Koishi I ever encountered in that cave (she is extremely rare, yet much later on in the game she'll be EVERYWHERE inside that volcano >_>) and the only reason I'd do that is if she's my favourite character...which she is. :D Anyway she eventually became an EKoishi and I only recently turned her into a special sweeper (a backup one, in case the others die, since I have no tank >_>) and she plays this role because she has the highest special attack of my party. (that is saying something considering I have like four special sweepers lololol)
At some point later, I found a Cirno...three Cirnos. I wanted a good nature lol, or at least one that doesn't reduce her good points. I settled for Lonely Nature Cirno, and she sat in daycare for a while before I trained her up. I didn't really use her until I obtained Sun Stones and turned her into ACirno, who has BEASTLY attack. She truly is the STRONGEST of my party. (Guess who has highest attack lololol) She is my physical sweeper, tenfold!
The last Touhoumon to join my party was Murasa because she is caught in the safari zone which is no where close to early game. I previously had a Komachi before her (and a Meiling before Cirno, etc.) and both ACirno and Murasa actually replace those previous Touhoumon in the same role. Meiling was my physical sweeper before Cirno and Komachi was supposed to be my Water/Ghost before Murasa. However ACirno looks 1000x cooler than Meiling and Murasa has superior stats to Komachi...at least special attack wise, and water is a very important type to me, far more than ghost, so special attack was more necessary. (If only Koishi could learn surf, lololol) Plus, Murasa has high special attack AND attack, she just has poor defenses which she kind of makes up by having the most health of my party. (and somehow she is faster too!) So guess who won in that department!?
Emerald feels much more customized than the other FireRed Touhoumon hack. Seeing as many of the major trainers in the game are replaced by Touhou characters (fighting Yukari, defeating Satori of Team Caution, stupid Hina of Team Kero...) and the attacks are that way too! My Murasa has an attack where she throws an anchor, Koishi has an attack of LOVE that confuses, AReisen learns L RED EYES which is sure to drive people insane, Wriggle learns the infamous WRIGGLE KICK, and Marisa learns stuff like Blazing Star and Master Spark (but Master Spark is horrible so I don't use it) I think ACirno learned something called Diamond Dust at one point...no idea if that's actually a customized attack or not (it has a recharge though so I replaced it, but I have Ice Beam on Koishi too so I'm not low on that department anyway)
Also it feels refreshing because I never finished my regular Emerald since I disliked the third generation, if I can finish this game I'd consider myself to have completed three generations of Pokemon. (I have yet to finish Platinum because I dislike generation four, lololol...but I have played Soulsilver so maybe I can say I played 'em all!)
Oh yes, I should fangirl about my favourite characters. I love tons of characters...as I've probably mentioned before, but Koishi is my current favourite. I don't know why either. I mean when I first got into Touhou I was like "WHAT IS SA" and WHO ARE THESE CHARACTERS WHERE IS MY EoSD AND PCB CHARACTERS!?!? But I am really loving SA and UFO lately, so yeah.
So Koishi, unlike any other character I've liked before...okay she has a small resemblance to Korea, being a younger sibling and long sleeves and super happy expression but still, unlike any other character I've liked before. Mostly because she is sometimes portrayed as incredibly creepy, like that spooky little girl in horror movies (along with Satori) or something. To close off one's heart..to be carefree yet emotionless. (Of course she is starting to open up, as her eye started to at the end of SA) reminds me of Flandre except less ax crazy and more just mindfuck. Flandre will just blow you into pieces, while Koishi will explode your brain. She can also be a ninja with her power to keep others from noticing her.
My second favourite comes from UFO: Captain Murasa! SAILING THE SEVEN....skies. Nonetheless, her backstory as a girl who drowned in the sea, becoming a spirit who haunts the waters, sinking all ships she sees to being saved by Byakuren and captaining a ship flying in the sky...while throwing incredibly heavy anchors at people as an attack. That's just hardcore. The fandom world needs more manly badass Murasa or evil ghost Murasa. I see far too much...not those Murasas and it disappoints me. SO, Murasa is a pirate.

I also like a few other characters, such as Mokou, Reisen, Ran, Yuyuko, Suwako....uh. I like EosD characters too but I don't really have a favourite that stands out from that game (unless ACirno counts) ...as for PoFV....hmmm, I dunno...maybe Aya from that one? I must admit it's the game I ALWAYS forget when mentioning all the "main games" I was always under the impression that PoFV was a decimal number game when it was really number 9, lol.
