ARGHGHRGHGHGHHGH

I was playing NHL 09 and then it crashed after I had possibly the best game I've ever played. @_@ Decent defence (FOR ONCE!) and there was even a penalty shot that I actually SCORED on (and I fail at those things, breakaways and shootouts @_@) I dressed the backup goaltender and thus some of the goals were iffy from the opposing side but still, arghhhh. Plus lots of different kinds of goals, rebound goals, one-timers, wrap-arounds...penalty shot...

Oh right I clearly never play this game without custom teams and then naming all the manly dudes after characters I like--this time they're named after loli characters from Touhou...how amusing. I finally managed to change the goalie equipment and faces so they all don't look bland or like clones. @_@ I also finally graduated from easy modo because I tried it out first and scored sixteen goals, so now I'm on medium until I'm ready for difficult. /fails at the game. Here the scores are much more realistic, won 2-1 once, 3-2, 3-1, 4-2, also lost like 1-4 or 0-1 (because the goaltender is bloody insane on the other side) and with medium I don't have a bunch of 2-on-nothings and score on every one-timer I shoot (because one-timers are much harder to pull off due to the oposing side's defence AI being less retarded)

But I know playing this game a bit more the AI will get pretty lackluster at some point, so...

Har be my lineup!
-

My first line is an ALL-OFFENSE and no defence line which I named the Fire Line:
Utsuho - RW, Mokou - C, Flandre -  LW

Utsuho is monstrously large compared to others...I made her six foot five lol. Especially since the team is filled with tiny lolis (and I sized them comparingly) so I either have monsters or midgets on my team, very few are in the middle-ground lololol. Mokou is the only one with some bits of defence and that's because I gave her crazy endurance (seeiing as she's immortal and all!) and Flandre is all speed and power--poor accuracy though. (But you usually don't miss when you're five feet in front of the net, unless you shoot SUPER-hard...like Flandre does sometimes)

My second line is the appropriately named UFO line:
Nue - RW, Murasa - C, Shou - LW

This line is much more balanced...did I mention Murasa is the Captain of the team? Of course she is. Shou's relatively balanced, except her actual "balance" stat is utter fail (worst on the team lol) alluding to my belief that Shou is badass but fails at the most menial of things. Despite that she probably has the most accurate shot on the team...either her or Ran really. Nue's pretty random (which...kind of fits actually) but probably my best dangler.....she was the one who scored the penalty shot. I was shocked...I did dangle but I usually still fail at those @_@

My third line is a pretty random line...it IS filled with EX-Bosses so...
Koishi - RW, Ran - C, Suwako - LW

Ran is the complete third-line center, who's good at all areas but not spectacular, which I believe Ran is. She's one of those people who'd be very reliable--but still an underling of Yukari's despite her power. (She's also a playmaker) (You'd have to be reliable to serve Yukari lololol) Suwako is on the other hand, a very defensive-type player who works on the penalty kill I guess. Haven't noticed her too much out there...Koishi even less, lol. (How fitting for Koishi though) I like zipping around with Koishi however.

The fourth line is the bottom line, and I call it the "Not Respected" line:
Kogasa - RW, Wriggle - C, Cirno - LW

Cirno is my only rookie on the team, but for some reason got a hat trick the first time I played. (Then again, that was EASY MODO) But perhaps it simply means she is THE STRONGEST....I did make all her stats STRONG but left skill and hockey sense lower---high spirits though, good for you Cirno! The other two are close-to-rookie, sophomore year. Wriggle is a complete fourth-line center and Kogasa is a playmaker who is super easy to knock around (because I made her super easy to knock around...lol)

As for my amazing defence, it is shored up by a lot of the "older" characters...
Yukari - D, Sakuya - D

These two work well together, with Yukari providing the lazy defence and Sakuya being pretty much speed and skill wtih lower power. I say "lazy" defence because all she does is nudge people off the puck...she's not fast, nor does she have the heaviest of shots, nor can she hit that well, but in terms of being clutch she's at the top--as in if it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, Yukari will do something...if it's necessary.

Yuuka - D, Satori - D

Yuuka is my slowest player (would it have been any different?) but to make up for it she has maximum-power of hits, as in she'd smash you through the glass, and the hardest shot on the team. It's pretty difficult ot make a defenceman who can predict all your moves in Satori, so I just tried to make her balanced--which somehow made her an offensive-defenceman but that's probably because she has absolutely no power, lol...still my quickest defender at least, which isn't saying much because everyone else is kind of slow.

Keine - D, Shikieiki - D

As for more allusions to lovely Touhou memes, I also made Keine a very strong hitter, although in terms of offence and scoring she isn't the best at it. I gave her decent passing though, first passes are important after all...especially to Mokou so she can score. P: Shikieiki was SUPPOSED to have the highest "penalty-resist" because it makes a huge amount of sense and yet that stat has backfired and Shikieiki has taken the most penalties of the bunch...huh. Otherwise she too is all-around balanced with better stats in the smaller-areas, like faceoffs and such.

And finally goaltenders...I chose the obvious choice for goaltenders!
Yuyuko - G, Letty - G

Yes I chose the big eater and the one with the largest hit-box to be my goaltenders...doesn't it make sense? Lol. Yuyuko is the better of the two, a butterfly-style goaltender (duh) who I gave a max-stat on five-hole because I hate it when people score on the five-hole. The other stats are decent, but FIVE-HOLE RAWRGH! Letty's bigger than Yuyuko and a bit slower, thus as the backup.

The team is creatively called "Youkai" and our city is a small town in Sweden because I thought it sounded funny. (It was also the closest sounding to "Gensokyo") The logo looks like a skull with a hockey-helmet on top, and the colours are grey-black-red. For the first time in forever Yuyuko and sometimes Letty are actually competent goaltenders (before, even if I maxed out the goalie-stats they'd still let in like five goals a game--granted my defence as pretty awful back then and is better now, but still. Yuyuko is REALLY good.)

And of course I had to give them all corny placeholder nicknames so the announcer calls them something...my favourites are "Cap'n" for Murasa, "Loopy" for Koishi, "Freight Train" for Yukari,  and "Crusher" for Yuuka. The owner of the team is Remilia Scarlet, and the coach is Nazrin, with the GM also being Yukari because she can. (She usually lets the Assistant GM, Ran, do all the work though) The anthem-singer and lead scout is Byakuren (she's also the player agent of all the UFO characters), the inside-interviewer/reporter is Aya, the water"boy" is Momiji, the doctor/trainer is Eirin, the number one-fan is Kaguya (they're actually double agents, both Eirin and Kaguya actually root for/are practically on Team Lunarians which explains Mokou's constant injury problems), the biggest rivals are team "Humans" with Sanae being the loudest, most vocal of the opposing team to hate on this team. Sakuya used to be on the "Humans" team but was in a controversial trade (along with Suwako and a second-round pick) to Team Youkai, after Sanae was drafted and took Sakuya's role, swapping them for superstar Marisa and defender Alice (Alice only because her No-Trade- Clause included one exception: "Will waive NTC if traded to a team with Marisa"). This of course further increased the rivalry between both teams since Suwako was Sanae's closest mentor (has since been replaced with Kanako on the the "Humans" team) and Sakuya's "mistreatment" on the Humans team.

Well you get the point. Off to play!

...So I actually haven't fought at all in the game yet, and decided to challenge the biggest guy on the opposing team with my tough guys. Unfortunately I was spamming the "CHALLENGE" button so often that it switched through my players and eventually landed on Koishi and he ACCEPTED AGAINST KOISHI. You know, the MIIDGET WHO NEVER FIGHTS!? YOU ASSHOLE. Koishi oddly enough put up a good fight (I was mashing buttons @_@) but unfortunately I could not win, FFFFFFFFFF. Koishi was like seven inches shorter than you you bastard! Yet he did not accept against my actual fighters, what a coward--just beats up a little girl. Gah.

...hours later I have gone through five more fights! I barely lost with Flan (FLAN SHOULD NEVER LOSE D<) and tied with Ran. I got my first win with Utsuho but apparently got an instigator along with it, lol...Sakuya won the next one without an extra minor. And then I rematched with Koishi...not intentionally, I was again spamming the CHALLENGE button and spammed it through three shifts of three different lines and they never did accept until Koishi came onto the ice. This time I beat the shit out of them lol (I figured out how to fight >_>) and surprisingly Koishi is becoming the enforcer of my team...what.

Well, I'll end this post for now! Gonna post another pretty soon (so many O: !) that's what happens with recent fandoms I suppose.
