Oh yeah, that's a great, great first line, and by the way, I'm not referring to my own parents, so I'm not being biased. (My parents aren't very strict...)
I'm just saying other people I know have very strict parents. I know an example of a strict parent and if they were my parents...I'd go insane, seriously.
How many people in the world have parents who...
1. Make you go to bed at 9 or before 9.
2. Beat you. (And as for a generalization, Asians!)
3. Ground you.
4. Scream at you.
5. Lectures you.
6. Disallows you to download ANYTHING AT ALL (Not even Paint...deleted Paint! Geez!) on the family computer.
7. Doesn't let you talk to anything, not even your SCHOOL FRIENDS OR RELATIVES over the internet, even though your parents know their emails and know them personally. They just don't trust you with that computer...
8. Watches you like some crazy stalker to make sure you don't break any rules.
9. Put a hidden camera in your room.
10. Thinks every cartoon you watch are for kids. (My mom saw me watch South Park and told me I'm too old for cartoons, even when it says 18+ on the top of the screen...O.o;)
Now, I consider myself lucky, because my mom doesn't care if I swear around her (as long as I don't say the f-word really loud, xD), doesn't really care at anything I do as long as I am SAFE AND DOING OK AT SCHOOL.
She thinks my dad is a bad influence on me because my dad takes a lot of risks. :P
My mom thinks every time I'm on the computer, I'm playing a game. If I'm surfing the internet, she calls Firefox a game. If I'm typing on Microsoft Word, she thinks it's a game. Ok, so my parents are a bit ignorant about computers and cartoons, but a lot of parents are...
The point is I was bored and wrote this after talking to my friend who was yelled at for drawing in Paint...
And her art project which took a week, wasn't saved, and died.
Yeah, woo.

My parents aren't really strict at all. They're sort of the good in between, not too strict, but not so uncaring that I go clubbing on friday nights and get drunk. =P
