Oi, how can I write my beloved story if I get so tired and uninspired all the time?

I tried to take a nap today plenty of times but failed to do so...D: I'm just really tired...yet I don't want to go to bed early, it's not my principle. It all started when my dumb mom (whom has become 95 billion times more annoying lately, if she ever yells at you she yells, then leaves your room, forgets to say something and comes back and yells about something completely different, and she keeps leaving and coming, even yelling at me for locking my door for some damned privacy, she left and came into my room like 20 times in a span of 5 minutes, and repeats herself forty million times too...ugh...) refused to let me sleep in on Sunday.

Look woman, you can threaten my internet, my TV, the money I have in my wallet, and school, but never, and I mean NEVER, threaten my god damned SLEEP!She's really pissing me off a lot lately.

Anyhow...note to self: do not talk to MSN buddies (or google talk) if in bad mood. A few days ago I think I made Aoi sad because of my horrible mood, and if I am also in a horrible mood I go offline for no reason without saying anything, and I did that to Kirami yesterday. And if I'm really in a horrible mood, I don't even attempt to say hi to them, which happened to Shiroi today. Ugh.

CHAPTA EIGHTO!
Chapter 8: Egao no Hana

The road wasn’t busy at all that day; in fact it was only sprinkled with a few coaches and carriages here and there. One particular one was a truck-like coach that held several animals inside. They were all of an insane variety, and were heading to some place that indicated their fated doom. Right behind them though, was a fat little donkey pulling a carriage with a hell of a pissed lady inside, known to the virtual world as Chiu.

The net idol had demanded the two men who had offered to take her home, Nagi and Negi, whom were father and son, to chase after the old gentleman named Wilhelm before he would kill the source of Chisame’s profit. No animals would mean no server for her to host her site, and she knew that her internet service would cut her off if she had no money. The furious teenager wasn’t even caring about how she would obtain food for herself either.

When she explained after a wild fury of misunderstandings that led to several embarrassments to the two males within the coach, they understood her message and stressed the poor donkey named Albireo to run faster. After a very dramatic chase with mad shouts shooting from the donkey’s coach, the carriage that held the animals mysteriously stopped. Chisame had noticed that they were only across the river from her farm, and oddly enough it took an extremely long time to reach where they were when a boat ride would’ve sufficed.

“So have you finally decided to return what is rightfully MINE!?” Chisame growled in a manner that was not ladylike, or Chiu-like.

Wilhelm smiled, “Hm, it appears my horses seem to be hesitant in continuing the journey. Perhaps they agree with you, Chiu-kun…”

”Stop being an idiot. Animals do not have opinions or whatever, since they probably have no idea what the hell is going on right now! Those animals, particularly the cow, keep me from going to poverty, now if you don’t mind…” Chisame started struggling to pull the carriage door open that contained her ‘pets’, but it was sealed shut.

The older man chuckled, “Little girl, I am, being an animal confiscator, also devoted to the law. Now I can have you arrested whenever I like, and I could’ve several hours ago. If you must persist, then I will be forced to take you in.”

“It’s not like you’re getting anywhere right now! My farm is right across this river, so it makes sense that I should get my animals back, or I will do something I would probably regret, or not, if you defy me!”

The senior still kept the cocky smirk plastered on his face on, “Actually, I will be advancing, and you won’t. There’s an abandoned little slaughterhouse near here that I could revive just for these unfortunate pests of yours…”

Before Chisame could argue back, the man pushed the irritated girl into the rushing river, prompting Nagi and son to try to save her. Wilhelm slowly led his horses towards an old building about two hundred meters away. He let the animals run free into a pen that he shut, where the only place to go was up into the building.

”Where are we-aru?” Ku Fei asked, looking around.

Yue scanned the area, “Looks to be quite close to the farm actually. If this pen wasn’t enclosed from the ceiling I could’ve flown out, unfortunately it isn’t.”

”I’m scared Chizuru-neesan!” The hamster hugged the hoof of the large cow within the fenced area.

Chizuru stayed calm, “That man didn’t get Kotaro, and he’ll come and get us.”

”You really think we can trust that pointy-stick breaking little jerk?” Haruna asked, still peeved from her favourite heirloom, as if was passed down from generations of penguins, was destroyed.

Setsuna speculated, “Hm, the girl who takes care of the farm seems really angry. That could mean that she doesn’t like it that we’re in here, or she wouldn’t be chasing us. I think we’re in danger, ojou-sama!”

”Oh really? That’s bad, makes me a little scared, Secchan! Brave Secchan will find a way out, right?” Konoka said, with a little cute smile never escaping from her face.

“Um…don’t worry a-about it, ojou-sama!”

”And will you stop calling me that? I like being called Kono-chan, Secchan!”

”I apologize, o-ojou-sama…er, Kono…”

Kazumi pointed at the structure in the pen that had an open doorway inside, “Hey! What’s inside there?”

Without waiting for an answer, the jumpy little canary quickly rushed into the silver building. Wilhelm, who stood at the side, smiled as he saw the yellow bird go into the slaughterhouse. He pulled a lever on the side, and a door slammed down behind Kazumi, trapping her inside.

“Ah, so my first victim is that loud stupid canary…”

Ako cried, “Oneechan! Oh no!”

”Kazumi, you overly curious moron!” Setsuna yelled, sighing.

Ku Fei didn’t need someone to say it, as she ran towards the now closed door of the slaughterhouse and started to scratch it, trying to pry it open and getting that bird out of trouble. The cat could not open the door though, it was tightly shut, but the striped feline kept trying, causing scratch marks on what looked like a fairly nice door compared to the condition of the rest of the slaughterhouse.

“Interesting, that cat seems to want in as well. Sorry, kitty, but it’s one at a time, or it wouldn’t be really fun, now would it?” The man held up a bow and aimed at the troublesome cat.

Nodoka suddenly yelled, surprising the other animals since she was quiet in nature, “Ku Fei! Look out!”

From that yell, Ku Fei narrowly escaped death as the arrow was centimetres from her head. She had barely dodged it and was scared silly from the surprising attack. The chaos that happened in the pen continued, however…

-

”The door closed…” Kazumi said to no one in particular, “and it’s incredibly dark in here…”

Convinced that the canary could not escape through where she entered after attempts to pull the door open, the bird decided to venture forth, for perhaps there was another exit somewhere else. As she felt around the area, hating her lack of senses for the darkness unlike a cat like Ku Fei, whom would see incredibly well, she walked slowly and bumped into something.

“Ow,” Kazumi said, rubbing her head. Suddenly what she bumped into started making an eerie motion that sounded of something Chisame used to cut down trees.

The dangerously sharp gear started turning, and Kazumi jumped back, barely avoiding being sawed in half. She listened in fear as the same sounds started growing louder, signalling that there was definitely more than one of these revolving gears. Kazumi ducked before one could shave her head, and one had lightly touched her tail feathers, which irked Kazumi because her favourite feather was now gone. The canary was barely dodging the grim devices as she frantically tried to find a way out of this predicament.

It was to her dismay when the ground beneath her started moving, so she couldn’t hide or stay in one place. Now it was gruesomely more difficult to avoid the machines of death that tried to turn her into canary stew. After several minutes, she was getting tired, and suddenly tripped on a belt that she didn’t see. Falling to her front, she could see a barely visible gear only a few centimetres away from her. No time to dodge, the bird simply covered her head with her two wings and thought that this was it…

The conveyer belt stopped.

“…eh?” Kazumi looked up, she was almost touching the gear, but didn’t advance any further, or she’d be two halves of a bird.

“Are…are you okay?” A soft voice echoed within the slaughterhouse. Was Kazumi not alone inside this horrific hell?

Kazumi, still fearing for her life inside the death house, only made a small squeak as she spoke, “Uh…I think so…”

”Go to the side there, there’s nothing dangerous there…”

Kazumi did not question what the voice said. She wanted to get away from the still moving gear in front of her as soon as possible and didn’t take into thought if she should trust a random voice out of nowhere or not. Thankfully, nothing dangerous was to the side, but Kazumi could still not see anything unless it was very close to her due to the darkness.

”Who are you?” Kazumi asked, sitting against the wall in a bit of relief.

“I…don’t think you should know…”

”Why?” Kazumi started, “if you were the one who saved me from being a bloody pile of feathers, then I want to know what kept me alive…”

”Because…you’ll get scared, jump into the gears, and die…like all the other times I’ve shown myself to other animals…”

Kazumi laughed a bit, “Oh c’mon, no animal is that stupid. You aren’t ugly or disfigured or anything, are ya?”

”N-no…”

”Then what’s the problem? You aren’t scared yourself, are you?”

The voice was starting to break, “I-it’s just that…I…don’t want to see you die…or anything…”

”That’s nice, but I’m not going to die. Seriously, just show yourself already. I promise not to jump or anything. Here, I put my leg into this fissure here. If I jump I’ll stay in the same place, now come on out!”

”Um…a-are you s-sure…?”

”Yes, I’m completely sure!”

Kazumi waited in the darkness as a small light started growing bigger. It then became a regular-sized animal, roughly the size of Kazumi herself. Whatever animal it was, it was clearly light blue, and emitted a bit of light around her surroundings like a small candle light. Kazumi stood there, and this made the animal feel a little relieved, since she did not foolishly jump to her death in fear.

“…hm…what are you?”

The glowing animal did a classic anime fall.

No wonder she doesn’t fear me…she doesn’t even know what I am…I guess that’s a good thing.

“Wait a minute! You were that animal that saved me from being eaten by Ku Fei the first time I came to this farm!”

”…you saw me? In broad daylight?” The creature asked.

”Yeah…and normal animals don’t float in midair, or glow, or even look bluish white and a tad transparent, do they?” Kazumi thought for a bit, “hm, now what animal are you?”

The light chuckled nervously, “Um, you might be a bit uncomfortable if I tell you…”

”Oh! Now I know! You’re a ghost! A yurei, right?”

”…whaa?” The floating substance was surprised, “uh…yes…?”

Kazumi cheered, “Alright! I’m right!”

”B-but…aren’t you scared…or anything?” The ghost asked, with her voice still soft and hesitant-sounding as always.

Kazumi asked, “Why would I be scared of a cute little ghost like you?”

”Other animals thought I l-looked…horrifying…though…”

”Really? They must be blind or something. Maybe you look different to each animal? You look fine to me, but I wonder what animal you were before you uh…became a spirit? Hm, how did you die?”

The ghost smiled, noticing the curious aura that emitted from the yellow bird, “I…actually don’t know what I was or how I came to b-be…so…”

”Hm, now that’s a mystery, do you even remember your name?”

”Oh…I do! My name is Sayo…what a-about you?”

Kazumi grinned, winking the same time at Sayo, “I’m Kazumi. Sayo’s a cute name, really suits you, you know!”

Sayo, even though she was only a ghost, seemed to appear to have a slight blush on her cold cheeks. There was an odd silence that came after, since the ghost was a little flushed from the compliment coming from the friendly little canary. She was also a little happy, as the ghost had been alone for so long. Whenever she tried to make friends with an animal that came in here, they died, and that certainly scarred a bit of the ghost’s afterlife. It was the first time that someone seemed to not automatically mark her as some evil spirit.

Suddenly, the fissure Kazumi had put her leg in, starting moving. It lifted up the bird upside-down as she seemed to go towards the ceiling.

”What the? What’s happening?” A sense of fear jumped back into the yellow bird as she grew further away from the ground.

Sayo, being a ghost, could see everything in the slaughterhouse, and saw a little revolving gear right above Kazumi. The fissure the bird had stuck her leg in was part of the conveyer belt, except it went up instead of forward. The spirit rushed towards her new companion thinking of some way to dislodge the bird. She didn’t expect the place to start moving, unless someone was controlling it from the outside.

“Kazumi-san! You got to get your leg out!” Sayo yelled, panicking for a bit. She floated towards the gear and tried to stop it. Sayo could not control the behaviour of the deadly machines very well, but since she’s been here so long, she had some sort of power to them. After a long and hard struggle, Sayo finally stopped the vertical conveyor belt. It was the same struggle she went through to stop Kazumi getting sawed before.

Sayo sighed in relief. She looked down to see if Kazumi was okay, but to her horror, only saw a familiar crimson fluid…

The ghost clapped her weightless hands to her mouth, gasping, “Kazumi-san!”

”I’m alright, Sayo-chan…” She heard the bird reply, but it didn’t sound as…energetic as Kazumi had spoken like before, “It’s just a small cut…thank you for saving me again.”

Tears started to flow in Sayo’s eyes as she started floating towards her newfound friend, who was obviously in pain. Kazumi did not think it was serious, but the gear was driven deep into the shoulder of her right wing. Luckily it did not go any further, or it would’ve been more than fatal, if that is entirely possible.

“I-I’m sorry! Because of me you put your leg in the fissure and now…I-I‘m so s-sorry!” Sayo started sobbing. She didn’t want to witness someone else die after all those years. Every time an animal was thrown into this building, she always blamed herself for their deaths, and now she felt incredibly guilty, especially when this bird had acknowledged her.

Kazumi-san probably hates me now…

Surprisingly enough, Kazumi still had the smug grin on her face like she usually did, “Oi, are you crying? Sayo-chan, you have no reason to cry! You saved my life…three times! Be happy! Smile! Something! You’re a little depressing for the cute exterior you give off, you know!”

”B-but…”

Kazumi felt her foot that was lodged in the crack, start loosening. Before she could tell Sayo that, she found herself falling straight towards the ground. Even if her wing was not injured, Kazumi had never flown before; she never even attempted to. The impact that would soon follow would definitely kill her, and she didn’t exactly have time to think about that…

”Oh cr—“

”KAZUMI!” Sayo cried. Her yell was powerful, and she never found herself calling out so loud in the past. Just then, the force of her voice triggered a little poltergeist ability that she never knew she had until then. Just before the bird could crack her head open, a gush of wind blew from below the falling bird and had broken her fall. Kazumi got up, amazed and speechless at what just happened.

“Wow…did you do that, Sayo-chan?”

Sayo floated down towards the injured outgoing canary, “I…d-don’t know…”

”Ah, never mind then!” Kazumi said, “Do you know a way out? I think my friends are worried about me. You should meet them, they’re quite interesting…I lack a better word to describe them…”

Sayo rubbed her head, “Um…I d-don’t think I can be s-seen in broad daylight…except you did…b-but…”

”Hm, nobody else mentioned a ghostly figure like you showing up that day…maybe only I could see you…”

Not shockingly, the gears all starting revolving again, and moving crazily around inside the slaughterhouse. Sayo lead Kazumi towards the only safe route she knew, and finally turned towards a door. The doorknob was far too high to be reached by the bird so Sayo was stumped in how to actually get out. Suddenly, the door opened on its own, and Wilhelm was there, wondering what took so long for the canary to turn into a delicious thanksgiving dinner before it’s time to go into an oven.

Kazumi ran between his legs, speeding so fast that shocked the older man himself. The yellow bird jumped onto the ground and didn’t notice Sayo following closely behind. Wilhelm raised his bow and was about to release a deadly and precise arrow when Chisame dived onto him, still furious, still angry, and still pissed off. The girl wrestled the man to the ground, screaming.

“YOU ALMOST KILLED MY ANNOYING CANARY! YOU SON OF A…”

”Oneechan!” Ako yelled in happiness as she saw Kazumi run towards them.

Konoka cheered, “Yeah! Kazumi’s alright! Isn’t that great, Secchan?”

”It was still stupid that she ran into that evil building all by herself, Ojou-sama…”

”Kono-chan.”

”Um, K-kono-chan…?”

”See? That wasn’t so hard, now was it?” Konoka questioned.

Setsuna nodded, “Eh…I g-guess not, Ojou-sama…”

”You did it again!”

”Um…oneechan, what’s that red…red…crims…” Ako couldn’t finish her sentence. She was staring rather profoundly at Kazumi’s wound and suddenly fainted.

Konoka gasped, “Ako-chan! Are you alright? Ako-chan!”

“What’s wrong with Ako-chan?” Haruna asked. She looked up at Kazumi, “hey…you look hurt…”

Kazumi ran towards the other yellow bird, ignoring Haruna, “Ako?”

”I think s-she’s afraid of b-blood…or something,” Sayo noted. Nobody heard her but Kazumi, who turned around. The canary smiled rather passively at the helpful ghost. Kazumi would’ve been dead if it hadn’t been for that yurei floating in front of her, which nobody else could see.

”Arigatou gozaimasu, Sayo-chan…”

The ghost smiled back, and this was the first she’d ever felt happy for the longest time.

This chapter was extra long…and I’m quite sure you know why, =D. Go K/S! BOTH OF THEM!
That was...predictable. Forgive me, xD
