I HATE French. HATEHATEHATE. I hate that class, I remember in 9th grade in that very class some pulled an incredibly cruel prank at me. The thing was the teacher was a SUBSITUTE and never saw what happened, so the actual teacher never found out. I HATE the actual teacher anyway. For some reason she can't figure out why people make mistakes, and although she corrects them, SHE INSULTS THEM IN THEIR FACE like we have to be perfect and never make a mistake. EVERYBODY fears this teacher, and WHY DIDN'T SHE RETIRE LAST YEAR!? She's retiring this year, which kills my luck of NOT GETTING HER EVER AGAIN.
NO GOAL! MITCHELL JUST SAVED A GOAL RIGHT NOW! =D
For some reason I seem to really be interested in the Virginia Tech massacre that happened on my mom's birthday (which was yesterday). I don't know, it happened far away from me, but I feel lots of sympathy for the families of those who died. Maybe because I want to go to a tech-y college in the future (unless my parents are morons and say, ZOMG STFU AND GO TO SFU!) (I DO want to go to SFU (Simon Fraser University), but I'm also interested in BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology). Still somehow what just happened kind of affected me more than other things. (Yes, more than the tsunami or 9/11 or whatever)
ANYWAY.
Yes, I am jumping onto the Mitchell bandwagon, but WOW that was so close it just astounded me how he saved it.
Everybody hates Sopel now. D: I know he isn't the best defenceman out there but give him a few more chances and we'll see what happens. (If he blows our cup-chance then I don't know anymore, lol)
And a wonderful quote if anybody feels like saying, "But like zomg people die everyday lol why u care bout some dum americans now"
"Virginia is in the country of the United States. Virginians are Americans. Americans empathize with other Americans. Canadians are very similar to Americans. Thus, Canadians tend to empathize with Americans. If this happened in Canada, Americans would empathize with Canadians.
Also, 30 well-off white Americans died of cancer today. 30 well-off white Americans died of heart disease. Did you feel just as much empathy for them as you did for the students today?
Ever have a family member or friend die? Do you mourn the death of strangers as much as you do for them?
People empathize more so to whom they relate. It doesn't matter if you're black, white, brown, red, yellow, Christian, Muslim, American, Iranian, etc., etc., etc.
And people will rationalize when "their people" do bad things. A 17 year-old Palestinian girl will strap on bombs and blow up a school bus full of children. And in the Mid East, many will rationalize and justify the actions, even though a few dozen kids were needlessly killed, because they can empathize with the girl. Too bad about the other kids that died, but the girl wasn't evil or bad.
Its how people react. That doesn't make them less humane. It makes them human."
That is all.
